One parent complained online that the security detail ‘regularly park, blocking off the dropped kerb, which forces pedestrians out into the road to get past. I don’t know how wheelchair users manage to cross. They are an absolute nightmare!’

Another said they complained directly to bodyguards about keeping the engines of their hybrid vehicles running when they dropped off the youngsters and were told: ‘We need to charge the battery.’ ‘I personally think that the royal children’s mother, who possibly knows nothing about it, should be alerted,’ another grumbled.

Kensington Palace said it did not comment on security matters.

And Martine McCutcheon has revealed that before she embraced a healthier lifestyle, she found herself drinking eight cans of Diet Coke a day.

The actress, 46, confessed she was addicted to the fizzy drink leading her to be judged by other mother’s at the school gate.

‘I’d wake up then be walking my seven-year-old into the playground with a can of Diet Coke and the mothers looked at me disgusted, absolutely disgusted — ‘She’s not got her posh coffee cup, she’s rocked up with a Diet Coke.

‘I was drinking it at that time of day and even before I went to bed. I always had a can next to me. I loved that little buzz it gave me.’

Sugar and caffeine within fizzy drinks can became addictive as each can contains around 34.5mg, the equivalent of half a cup of instant coffee.

This can be addictive and trigger withdrawal symptoms, such as headaches, insomnia and fatigue, even within just a few days.

But fizzy drinks often contain phosphoric acid, the ingredient that gives them their appealing tangy taste and ‘tingle’. In large amounts, this can affect skin and muscles, and even damage the heart and kidneys over time.

Luckily the former soap star managed to kick the habit and even told the Gavin and Stacey star that she is now considering returning to the limelight after taking time off to raise seven-year-old son Rafferty.

Martine, who shares the youngster with her husband Jack McManus, 37 said: ‘I took time out of the industry because my priority was to become a mother. It took a lot longer than I thought . . . I had a lot of problems keeping babies.

‘The fluffy world of t*ts and teeth didn’t matter any more. There was a far bigger lesson to be learned and a far bigger picture to be looked at.’

Before adding: ‘Now my son is seven I’m still a bit obsessed with being a mum. I still begrudge anything that takes me away from him for longer than a few hours because I’m so in love with him.

‘I’m doing a movie, playing the very small part of an ex-ballerina, with John Cleese in Budapest in Hungary this year. I am starting to look at other things too.’

In February, Martine revealed it has taken her ‘such a long time to do what works for (her)’ as she opened up about her health and staying in shape.

In an interview with OK! magazine, the Love Actually star noted that she didn’t like to discuss her weight but told how she stays in shape by following the 80/20 rule diet.

Discussing her frame, Martine told how it hasn’t always been straightforward in finding the right healthy eating lifestyle that works for her, with the star stating how important it is to just be the ‘best version’ of herself.

She said: ‘I think it takes a long time to work out what your own recipe is. It’s taken me such a long time to look through all the stuff that’s out there, and do just what works for me. So it’s not as simple as just going on a crazy diet. I just feel it’s really important to encourage women to just be the best version of themselves.’

Detailing her diet, she added: ‘The 80/20 rule is what works for me. For 80% of my week, I will have mainly just healthy proteins, vegetables and fruit, organic and veggie juices, and Flora ProActiv spread. And then I’ll have treats 20% of the time.’

The mum-of-one also shared that she keeps in shape by walking her dogs everyday after the school run, with the outings good for both ‘my head and my health’.

On taking cold showers to help with Fibromyalgia, she explained: ‘It’s not every day, but I have one when I can.

‘I’ll have a cold shower at the end [of a hot shower] and stay in there as long as I can. It’s really kind of makes me feel like I’ve been WD-40’d.’

Last year Martine gave an interview to Hello Magazine and spoke about living with Lyme disease, which according to the NHS causes ‘fever, headache, fatigue and a skin rash called erythema migraines’, during the pandemic.

She told the publication: ‘If you have any underlying illness you can’t take risks.

‘As with any chronic condition you can have flare-ups. When I go outside I always have my mask and my gloves and take it very seriously.

‘I have been really good emotionally for a long time and I have felt a lot calmer. It has been good to realise it is okay to do things at your own pace.’
