Strictly’s Hamza Yassin insists ‘I’m not beating her up’ as partner Jowita bruised

Hamza Yassin, 32, appeared on his dance partner, Jowita Przystal’s, Instagram story on Thursday evening after a frantic day. Jowita panned the camera down to her leg showing a painful-looking dark bruise on her right calf, while Hamza desperately spoke out to keep the record straight.

Appearing on Instagram, the couple recapped their incredible day.

Jowita shared: “We had such a lovely day today. We started with Loose Women.

“So lovely. We had a really nice chat and time there.

“Then we came here to Oti Mabuse’s studio! And we’re doing some rehearsals.”

Hamza added a slightly confident “it’s going well” before Jowita gave a sly smile and said: “But I need to show you something…”

The cameraman’s face dropped as he asked: “Oh God, what?”

Humming the tune of Jaws, the Strictly professional panned the camera downwards to her left leg.

Hamza quickly jumped into frame, covering the bruise with his hand shouting: “Woah, woah! Time out!”

The Strictly fan-favourite insisted: “Listen, this is not me! That bruise was not me.

“That happened accidentally when we are doing, what are they called? Gamchos.

“It’s the whole little leg flicky kicky thing. I promise I’m not beating her up I promise!”

Jowita giggled adding: “The sacrifices for this dance.”

Hamza agreed saying: “The sacrifice that we do for dance is her feet.”

The new injury comes shortly after the couple shut down the idea that Hamza’s hair slaps Jowita while dancing.

The couple were answering fan questions over Instagram while making the trip down to Blackpool last week.

When one fan asked how often Jowita gets hit by Hamza’s iconic locks, she noted: “The answer is they never do unless he does it on purpose.”

Hamza added that he would have to “physically take (his) hair” and hit her with it intentionally.

The cameraman added: “Bare in mind I’ve had this hair for 17 years so I know what I’m doing, I know where it is. I’m used to it.

“I’ve never stepped on it. I won’t step on it.

“Everyone thinks I’m walking around with my head, like, bent back, but in reality they’re super light.”

Jowita joked that Hamza has better control over his hair than his feet.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 7:15pm.

NCIS LA’s Daniela Ruah praised by co-stars as she shares new role amid Kensi absence

Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) will return to the world of NCIS: Los Angeles in January as part of the CBS franchise’s historic three-way crossover but for the past few weeks, she’s been missing from the action. However, the NCIS LA star has now taken to social media to share her pride in a separate project coming to screens soon as she juggles work both on and away from the long-running crime series.

Ruah may be familiar to viewers of NCIS LA as the lovable Kensi, in no small part thanks to her onscreen chemistry with onscreen husband Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) but she’s also no stranger to lending her talents behind the scenes.

The Kensi star has directed a number of NCIS LA episodes now and will even helm the 14th episode of season 14, titled Shame.

But Ruah hasn’t stopped there as she took to Instagram to share her excitement at the release of her new Portuguese-speaking project, Os Vivos, O Morto e o Peixe Frito.

Sharing her joy, Ruah penned alongside a trailer for the new movie: “The 2nd project I ever directed is airing soon (in Portugal) and I can finally share the trailer!

“I’m so proud of this movie, cast and crew,” she added before expressing her gratitude for the production companies behind it.

She signed off: “Thank you @ukbarfilmes and grateful for the kindness and hospitality of @torresvedrascm.”

Ruah doesn’t star in the movie but the cast boasts the likes of Igor Regalla, Soraia Tavares, Daniel Martinho, Mina Andala, Matamba Joaquim and Mauro Hermínio among others.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for Ruah’s fans to congratulate her, including some words of support from a few recognisable faces.

NCIS LA star Medalion Rahimi, who plays Fatima in the CBS series, commented: “This looks incredible !!! Cant wait to see,” followed by a love-heart-eyed emoji.

Elsewhere, fan @ivana_d147 weighed in: “I am very proud of you no matter whatever you do in your life. Just know that I will always keep supporting. Congratulations Dani.”

And @brucemclean19570 echoed: “Congratulations director Dani. Your talents never cease to amaze me.”

While @learneuportuguese added: “Nice! Congratulations! My students who are learning Portuguese will enjoy this! We are always looking for good content in Portuguese to show you.”

And Instagram user @nat.cavalcanti simply added to the praise: “So proud of you and this amazing team.” (sic)

When exactly the film will arrive in the UK or US remains unknown for now but Ruah’s clearly overjoyed it will be making its arrival in Portugal soon.

In the meantime, NCIS LA has headed on its winter hiatus following the action-packed Let It Burn.

On January 2, when Kensi returns, she’ll be joined by the likes of NCIS Hawaii’s Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) and NCIS’s Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Jessica Knight (Katrina Law).

TVLine shared some exclusive snaps from the set of the historic crossover on December 5 and it looks like Ruah and her co-stars had a blast.

In one snap, Ruah is joined by Rahimi, Lachey and NCIS Hawaii star Yasmine Al-Bustami for a smiley snap.

Elsewhere, Ruah is pictured in NCIS protective gear as she jokes with Valderrama and Lachey in-between shots.

Whatever drama the crossover brings, it’s bound to be an unmissable affair for NCIS fans everywhere.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 6 release: Fans set for long wait after Elisabeth Moss news

The fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale came to an explosive conclusion on Hulu back in November with heartbreaking separations and jaw-dropping reunions. Therefore, it’s inevitable fans are itching to see how season six will address the ongoing June (played by Elisabeth Moss) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) feud as well as Gilead’s future.

However, a new report from SpoilerTV has suggested that those hoping for a 2023 release could be in for some disappointing news.

Moss’s work diary away from The Handmaid’s Tale was always going to look rather busier after she landed a role in FX series, The Veil, earlier this year.

The Veil promises to be an unmissable limited series with Peaky Blinders mastermind Steven Knight at the helm and Moss leading the show on-screen.

However, according to the newly released scheduling report, The Veil won’t begin production until spring next year.

The Handmaid’s Tale season six, on the other hand, is yet to receive a confirmed start date.

Instead, the schedule states the stage at which the next series is currently at is “active development”.

Sadly for The Handmaid’s Tale fans, The Veil also doesn’t have an end date for its shoot.

But it’s safe to presume that if Moss begins work on the new FX series in the spring, this will likely take up her work diary up deep into the summer or even autumn.

With Moss an integral part of the Hulu drama, The Handmaid’s Tale season six won’t enter production or begin filming until she’s available.

Should this be late summer or autumn next year, it would take an almighty feat for the new episode to air in the same year.

After all, The Handmaid’s Tale isn’t the type of show to skimp on high-octane action sequences and elaborate set designs.

So corner-cutting, in order to get the new episodes onto screens in 2023, isn’t a likely solution.

This would make 2023 the second year since The Handmaid’s Tale began in 2017 for no new episodes to air.

Back in 2020, fans went without a new season and had to wait almost two years for season four to arrive.

While seasons one and two debuted on Hulu in the USA in April of 2017 and 2018, respectively, season three bucked the trend with a June 2019 premiere.

And then it wasn’t until April 2021 that season four arrived, with the fifth run landing almost 18 months later in September 2022.

While Moss has, of course, had other work commitments during that time, The Veil would be only her second other recurring role away from The Handmaid’s Tale.

Moss did also appear in Apple TV’s Shining Girls last year while juggling her role in the Hulu drama.

For now, fans wanting their Gilead fix will have to rewatch the first five seasons until concrete news of season six comes to light.

The Blacklist’s Harry Lennix sparks frenzy with tribute to co-star as he marks milestone

For the past nine seasons, Harold Cooper (played by Harry Lennix) and Donald Ressler (Diego Kalttenhoff) have shared many a scene together as they delve into the psyche of Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (James Spader). With the 10th season of the NBC drama coming in February, fans have been keeping up to date with the stars as they wait for new episodes, and Lennix’s latest sweet post to his Blacklist co-star proves their chemistry is just as strong off-screen.

Lennix took to Instagram earlier this week to wish co-star Klattenhoff a happy birthday as The Blacklist star turned 43.

And it didn’t take long for fans of the actor and NBC series to quickly share their own well wishes.

Lennix shared a snap of himself and Klattenhoff during an interview and penned: “Wishing Diego a very happy birthday today! Blacklisters show him some love. #TheBlacklist.”

A number of fans echoed Lennix’s sentiment, although there was also a familiar theme among the replies.

Instagram user and Blacklist fan @mamalopulos replied: “Happy birthday! Looking forward to The Blacklist’s return.”

While @jeanmedi03 echoed: “Happy birthday, Diego!!! Can’t wait for the next season.”

Meanwhile, @iammrscurry1 shared their thoughts on the character: “I love Ressler!!! Happy Birthday Diego!”

And diegolicious1 concurred: “Harry, you have no idea how much love I have for him. Diego, I wish you a very happy birthday!

“I hope you have a great day! And I hope that Harry share all this love here with you.”

Elsewhere @karensakonda added: “Happy birthday Agent Ressler, wish you many loads may the almighty continue to bless you with love, peace and happiness.”

Both Klattenhoff and Lennix will reprise their roles when the NBC drama returns in February.

And while spoilers and tidbits of information have been few and far between, fans were treated to the news of a new guest star in November.

Taking to Twitter in November, Chris L McKenna confirmed he’d filmed his upcoming debut on the series.

“Obligatory cast chair shot,” he penned. “New season airs in February! @NBCBlacklist #NewYorkCity #TheBlacklist #bts.”

McKenna stopped short of revealing too many details about who he’ll be playing or what his introduction will entail.

However, according to IMDb, he’ll take on the role of Richard Deever in the season 10 premiere.

McKenna’s CV boasts a number of high-profile roles from the world of US TV from which Blacklist fans will undoubtedly recognise him.

He starred in 10 episodes of Hulu and Freeform’s Good Trouble last year.

The new cast member also enjoyed stints in CBS dramas SWAT, SEAL Team and NCIS New Orleans.

Kirstie Alley dead at 71: Cheers star’s heartbroken children announce the actress has passed away

Actress Kirstie Alley has died at the age of 71 following a short cancer battle.

The children of the actress, True, 30, and Lily, 28, – who was known for her roles on Cheers and in the Look Who’s Talking films – issued a statement on social media on Monday evening confirming the sad news.

Alley’s family said that she ‘was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.’

They continued: ‘As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.

‘We are grateful to the incredible team of doctors and nurses at the Moffitt Cancer Center for their care.’

Alley had not been seen in public for some time with her last-known picture seen during a video in early September as she promoted her profile on Cameo on her Instagram page. There did not appear to be any visible signs that she was ill and appeared with her signature mane of thick blonde hair.

In April of this year she had performed on the television show The Masked Singer.

Alley’s relatives said that ‘the zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and leave us inspired to live life to the fullest just as she did.

They ended the statement in saying, ‘We thank you for your love and prayers and ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.’

Alley’s friend and confidante John Travolta took to Instagram Monday to pay memorial to the actress, who he worked with on the Look Who’s Talking films.

‘Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie,’ said Travolta, 68. ‘I know we will see each other again.’

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Alley attended Kansas State University before dropping out and moving to Los Angeles.

Alley was married to her high school sweetheart from 1970 to 1977, and to actor Parker Stevenson from 1983 until 1997.

She said in 2010 if she married again, ‘Id leave the guy within 24 hours because I’m sure he’d tell me not to do something.’

Her very first television appearances were as a game show contestant, on The Match Game in 1979 and Password in 1980.

Alley’s big breakout role came in 1987 when she was cast as Rebecca Howe on the NBC hit Cheers, replacing the outgoing Shelley Long.

She joined the show at the height of its popularity after the departure of Long.

Alley would win an Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy series for the role in 1991.

‘I only thank God I didn´t have to wait as long as Ted,’ Alley said in her acceptance, gently ribbing her ‘Cheers’ co-star Ted Danson, who had finally won an Emmy for his role as Sam Malone in his eighth nomination the previous year.

She would take a second Emmy for best lead actress in a miniseries or television movie in 1993 for playing the title role in the CBS TV movie David’s Mother.

Alley appeared in various films throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

These included the Look Who’s Talking film series, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) which was her film debut, Summer School (1987) Sibling Rivalry (1990),It Takes Two (1995), For Richer or Poorer (1997), and Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999).

She won her second Emmy Award in 1994 for the television film David’s Mother and received a further Emmy nomination in 1997 for her work in the crime drama series The Last Don.

She also had her own sitcom, Veronica’s Closet, from 1997 to 2000.

It was the 1989 comedy Look Who’s Talking, which gave her a major career boost, as she played the mother of a baby who’s inner thoughts were voiced by Bruce Willis. She would also appear in the 1990 sequel Look Who’s Talking Too.

She would play a fictionalized version of herself in the 2005 Showtime series Fat Actress, a show that drew comedy from her public and media treatment over her weight gain and loss.

Alley said she agreed to do the show in part because of the misinformation about her that had become a tabloid staple.

‘Anything bad you can say about me, they say I’ve never collapsed, fainted, passed out. Basically, anything they’ve said, I never. The only true thing is I got fat.’

Alley co-created the series and played a version of herself – an actress who struggles to lose weight so she can revive her career, although the show only lasted one seven-episode season.

The actress was also a spokesperson for weight-loss company Jenny Craig between 2004 and 2007, losing 75 pounds during her time there

Two years later, in 2009, Alley revealed that she gained 83 pounds after leaving Jenny Craig and weighed as much as 228 pounds.

She founded the weight loss company Organic Liaison in 2010, though she faced a class-action lawsuit alleging false advertising that was ultimately settled in 2013.

The company was acquired by Jenny Craig in 2014 and she returned once again as a spokesperson, revealing in 2015 that she had lost 50 pounds on the program.

Alley also made several appearances on reality television, first as a contestant on the 12th season of Dancing with the Stars, where she finished in second place.

She appeared on the competition series The Masked Singer in April this year wearing a baby mammoth costume.

During her stint on Big Brother she shared the house with other famous faces including Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and Dan Osbourne from The Only Way Is Essex, who finished in first and third place respectively.

Alley appeared in the Ryan Murphy black comedy series Scream Queens on Fox in 2015 and 2016.

One of her co-stars on the show, Jamie Lee Curtis, said on Instagram Monday that Alley was ‘a great comic foil’ on the show and ‘a beautiful mama bear in her very real life.’

Lee Curtis said the pair had a ‘mutual respect and connection’.

‘We agreed to disagree about some things but had a mutual respect and connection. Sad news,’ she added.

Alley’s Cheers co-star Kelsey Grammar said in a statement that ‘I always believed grief for a public figure is a private matter, but I will say I loved her.’

Alley, who became a member of the Church of Scientology in 1979, had been living semi-permanently in Clearwater, Florida after purchasing a waterfront property just a stone’s throw from the church’s global headquarters in 2000.

In 2018 she participated in the 22nd series of UK Celebrity Big Brother, in which she finished as runner-up.

In recent years her conservative political views put her at odds with most stars in woke Hollywood.

Alley told Tucker Carlson that she was first warned to keep quiet about her interest in Donald Trump back in 2015, with a producer telling her that she would stop getting roles if she came out as a conservative.

The Cheers star claimed the unidentified producer was also a Trump fan, but chose to keep quiet for fear they’d ‘never work again’.

Alley, however, chose to speak up.

‘People go, ‘You’re so brave.’ I go, ‘No, I think I’m stupid’. Because honestly… it is a real blackballing situation,’ she stated.

‘It’s so strange to me because artists are free-thinkers for the most part.’

Alley – who had not starred in a movie since 2015 – claimed that her Hollywood peers can behave in illegal or unethical ways and still not receive the same type of ostracization that she had to deal with.

‘You can be cooking meth and sleeping with hookers but as long as you didn’t vote for Trump [you’re fine],’ she told Carlson.

‘I feel like I’m in the ‘Twilight Zone’ a bit with the whole concept of it.’

‘I’m voting for Donald Trump because he’s NOT a politician,’ she wrote on Twitter.

‘I voted for him 4 years ago for this reason and shall vote for him again for this reason.

‘He gets things done quickly and he will turn the economy around quickly. There you have it folks there you have it’.

She revealed that she voted for Obama in both 2008 and 2012 but threw her support in 2016 after criticizing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Despite previously being a moderate liberal, Alley has also hit headlines for her other controversial opinions in recent years.

In 2020 she claimed claiming CNN was ‘terrorizing viewers’ with its constant coronavirus coverage.

She also blasted the Academy Awards after organizers announced that they would update diversity rules in order for films to be eligible for best picture nominations.

‘Can you imagine telling Picasso what had to be in his … paintings,’ Alley wrote on Twitter.

‘You people have lost your minds. Control artists, control individual thought .. OSCAR ORWELL’ she tweeted.

‘Bit embarrassed’: Helen Skelton admits children were left ‘awkward’ after couple’s choice

Last week, the remaining six couples took to the stage as they performed for Musical Week in a bid to secure their place in the semi-final. Helen Skelton and partner Gorka Marquez performed their Couple’s Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret. However, she admitted that her children were left “embarrassed” over their sexy routine.

Helen and Gorka joined It Takes Two host Rylan Clark to discuss their performance at the weekend.

He asked: “You mentioned your parents’ support, your mum was in the audience, what did they make of it?”

Helen admitted: “My children said it was a bit weird and they were a little embarrassed but they loved it.

“My mum was in the front row going mad. All our families, it’s nice for them to see us having a good time because we had a great adventure, a great journey so far.

“Obviously some bits are easier than others, but you put a lot of hard work in and when it comes together like it did the other night, it’s brilliant for us but performing for them as well.”

Helen shares her three children Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and baby Elsie, nine months, with her ex-husband Richie Myler.

Their performance on Saturday night received a stunning round of applause from the audience, their fellow dancers and a standing ovation from Shirley Ballas.

Receiving their comments from the judges, Shirley kicked off: “I mean, am I looking at a mummy of three?

“Am I looking at a young lady that has grown from a timid shy girl from week one to this sensual performance? I’ve got goosebumps all over me!

“Absolutely off the chat in every way, from technique to coordination, to how you danced with your partner, to how you danced with the professionals.

“It was a memory I will treasure forever, well done.”

Anton Du Beke admitted that he got a little emotional because he liked their dance so much and was “proud” of her performance.

Tough judge Craig Revel Horwood added: “I think you could have used your centre a little bit more…” but he was cut off by an uproar of boos from the audience.

He continued: “Oh my goodness. In this dance, every move is a picture, I think you achieved that immaculately.

“This style is very particular, it is based on Fosse’s work and I thought, actually, you did one of the most brilliant dances with Fosse’s stuff I have seen.”

Getting their scores from the judges, Craig awarded them a nine, with the other three judges scoring their performance a 10.

Unfortunately for presenter Kym Marsh and partner Graziano Di Prima, their Strictly journey came to an end as she became the 10th celebrity to be eliminated.

Touching on her journey, she told host Tess Daly: “My dad has been so proud and it’s kind of kept him going.

“When he was in hospital last week, and obviously we weren’t here, all these guys sent him videos and it meant such a lot.

“My grandchildren are so proud. I have to say, it’s all down to this man (Graziano) here, he is just wonderful and he will be my friend forever.

“But what a journey it’s been, this show is just wonderful, it shows you things about yourself you don’t know, it shows you how tough you can be.”

Yellowstone fans ‘work out’ major Dutton family death as new promo teases tragic exit

Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) and his wife Monica’s (Kelsey Asbille) story took another harrowing turn at the beginning of Yellowstone season five when their unborn baby John was tragically killed following a car accident. Ever since, the Paramount series has delved into the pair’s struggles with grief and while they’ve managed just about to keep their family unit together, the promo for episode six has hinted at yet another deadly exit to rip through the Duttons.

The trailer for the next episode of Yellowstone opens with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) taking a trip into the Montana wilderness.

“I could live here and never see another person in my whole life except you,” Beth tells her beau as she contemplates life away from the ranch.

The trailer rolls on to show Summer, still sporting the cuts and bruises from her fight with Beth, speaking to Monica as they stroll through the Duttons’ graveyard.

“Your family’s been here that long?” Summer asks before the trailer cuts to Monica saying: “When I say we give everything to this land, I do mean everything:”

Soon, the promo descends into chaos as an air ambulance is shown flying onto the ranch, John (Kevin Costner) in deep conversation with Kayce, and a shell-shocked John and Beth making a jaw-dropping discovery.

Beth removes her hat at whatever she’s just seen while another split-second shot shows John hugging and consoling a young man who looks a lot like Tate (Brecken Merrill).

Rip’s voice can be heard asking over the top of the footage: “What happened?” before the trailer comes to a haunting close.

With it clear the trailer is pointing towards a deadly incident, many fans have picked up on the fact John appears to be comforting Tate.

And as a result, a number of the fandom are now convinced they’ll be saying goodbye to either one of Kayce or Monica.

Replying to the trailer on YouTube, @danieldavis7269 thought Monica may tragically take her own life, adding: “There were a few signs…. Her odd behavior pushing her husband to not quit his job and also pushing for them to go to the ranch and for them to go with John and crew…”

While on Reddit, u/dp37405 asked: “In next weeks previews, we see a Life Flight helicopter in one of the scenes. Who do you think will be on the flight going into the mid-season break?”

And u/Green-Independent951 replied: “I have a bad feeling it’s Kayce and I really hope it’s not.”

Fellow Redditor u/AmericanWanderlust agreed: “What if it’s Kayce? The only reason I say this is because there is some scene where John is looking all forlorn hugging someone in brown — the hair makes it look like Tate, the jacket makes it look like Kayce.”

Meanwhile, u/La_Croix_Life argued: “It’s definitely plausible that Kacey could die. I’m still personally hung up on his vision quest and him seeing ‘the end of us’ and seeing that wolf everywhere.

“And now a bunch of wolves are dead. Even though Kacey didn’t kill them, karma’s coming for the Duttons from those wolves, imho.”

While u/Halsee_ weighed in: ”From this analysis, I also think it’s plausible that Monica might be the one to die. She may be planning to kill herself, which is why she discusses talking to god and doesn’t answer Kayce about another child.” (sic)

Given the clues, it’s certainly likely that John and the rest of the Duttons could be soon burying another one of their own.

However, other guesses have ranged from Lloyd (Forrie J Smith) to John’s old pal Emmett Walsh (Buck Taylor).

Fans will have to tune in to episode six to find out who exactly the air ambulance was for and if John could be saying goodbye to his son or daughter-in-law.
