‘Prince of Woke’ Gary Lineker savaged by GB News host over tweet ‘Brought it on himself’

Gary Lineker, 61, found himself backtracking on a tweet he had posted in celebration of the Lionesses’ Euro victory for which he was labelled “sexist”. It came as Mr. Lineker referenced Chloe Kelly stripping her top off in excitement after scoring the winning goal for England. GB News presenter Mark Dolan wasted no time in taking the opportunity to mock the former footballer, claiming people reacted negatively because they normally see him as “the Prince of Woke”.

Mr. Dolan ridiculed Lineker’s reputation in a lengthy rant on Friday’s GB News.

He stated: “There’s an item that we do on the show called, ‘We Feel Your Pain,’ in which I reach out to a celebrity who’s going through a tough time.

“Tonight, the nicest, kindest, most empathetic and politically correct man in the world, probably a man with more goodness in his heart than the Pope himself, Saint Gary Lineker.

“Gary, almost certainly the nicest man on the planet – potentially a better human being than the Dalai Lama.

“Well, the Dalai Lineker has got himself into a bit of hot water when celebrating the England women’s football team’s victory in the Euros.

“He made a joke on Twitter – it read as follows: ‘The lionesses have only gone and done it and Kelly is England’s heroine, bra none.’ Oh dear, he made a t** of himself there. All the woke people on Twitter with blue hearts just like Gary, all the people who say, ‘Be kind,’ but are amazingly toxic, all the people with rainbows and the EU flags in their bio turned on their own Prince of Woke.

“Devastating for Saint Gary, the nicest man in the world – probably more morally upstanding than Mother Teresa.”

Dolan continued: “Well, Gary was forced to defend this tweet and then ultimately deleted it.

“As the brilliant comedian Abi Roberts always says, ‘The woke crocodile will eventually devour its own.’

“Now, I’m all for free speech and I defend Gary’s right to do his little gag.

“It was absurd that he received any flack for it, but he’s only brought this upon himself with his endless moral posturing.

“And this is a guy that’s apparently so woke and so lovely, in just a couple of months’ time he’ll be presenting World Cup shows in a country where homosexuality is illegal.

“And he’ll be presenting those programmes in stadium built by slaves, many of whom fell to their death in blazing 45-degree heat during their construction.

“He’s apparently so woke and so lovely, he’s at war with HMRC over his tax bill. What do you mean he’s so lovely he wants to pay more? No, no – he’s trying to pay less.”

Gary has since addressed the tweet, explaining: “I knew it was nonsense.

“Anyone who follows me on Twitter knows I do relentless amounts of puns, I’ve got dad joke tourettes, it’s that kind of thing.

“I do it on Match of the Day and I’ve done it for years and I actually ran it by a couple of women friends of mine who are actually real feminists and I said ‘is this OK?’ and they went ‘it’s absolutely fine’.”

Talking to ITV News, he added: “I think what happened is that some people didn’t see the game and didn’t understand the context of the nuance so therefore they just assumed it was some kind of sexist reference when clearly it wasn’t.

“I eventually took it down, not because I was bothered about it because I actually thought it was fine, and practically everyone did, but for those who didn’t see the game I don’t want them to read it the wrong way, so I did take it down for that reason.”

Mark Dolan Tonight airs weekdays from 9pm on GB News.

Myleene Klass catches the eye in a geometric print dress and VERY high pink platform heels

She never fails to impress with her stylish looks.

And Myleene Klass pulled off yet another chic ensemble on Thursday as she stepped out in an eye-catching black and white geometric print dress while heading to work at Smooth FM in London.

The radio presenter, 44, further turned up the glamour as she teamed her dress with a pair towering pink satin platform heels.

Myleene oozed confidence as she strutted down the street in her bold mini dress which featured a plunging neckline and a cinched in waist.

The former Hear’Say singer accessorised her look with stylish sunglasses and a selection of jewellery including a gold pendant, hoops and a snazzy watch.

She wore her brunette locks loose in soft waves for the day, while highlighting her features with a light make-up palette.

The star looked in her element as she pouted away while tottering around on the very high heels.

It comes after Myleene paid tribute to her friend and fellow musician Darius Campbell with a throwback photo of their time on Popstars on Tuesday.

The 41-year-old singer was found dead in his apartment in Rochester, Minnesota , US yesterday. His cause of death is currently unknown.

And Myleene, who also shot to fame on Popstars with her band Hear’Say, posted following his tragic passing and honoured him with a throwback image, titled: ‘Back where it all began.’

Other stars who shared tributes to the later singer include Pop Idol runner up Gareth Gates and music producer Pete Waterman.

Gareth said in a statement: ‘I can’t quite believe the news of my dear friend Darius passing. I’m heartbroken. Darius took me under his wing during our time in Pop Idol, like a big brother; always looking out for me and for that I thank you my friend.

‘I will miss our chats. He was one of the most beautiful, intelligent and gentle souls I was lucky enough to know, a soul that lit up every room. Goodbye my friend. Forever in my heart.

Pop Idol judge Simon Cowell also offered his condolences in a statement to MailOnline as he remembered the ‘charismatic and funny’ man.

Simon told MailOnline: ‘I first saw Darius on television over 20 years ago and I got to know him really well.

‘He was charismatic, funny and just a great person to be with. His passing, for someone so young, is an absolute tragedy and my heart goes out to his family and friends.’

Madonna’s son David Banda dazzles in a pair of flares after she revealed he wears her clothes

Madonna’s son David Banda stole the show at her 64th birthday on Wednesday as he dazzled in a pair of sequin flared trousers.

The Pop icon shared behind-the-scenes footage from her wild party in Italy with her 18.4 million Instagram followers.

David’s stylish look comes after The Material Girl hitmaker revealed that the 16-year-old son not only wears her clothes but also ‘looks better in them’ during her appearance on The Tonight Show earlier this month.

The teenager showed off his incredible style credentials during his mother’s big night as he struck a one legged chair pose while glaring into the camera.

He teamed the look with a pair of heeled Chelsea boots, black fedora hat and a black vintage handbag.

The model, who has appeared in campaigns for Stella McCartney and Converse, said amped up the look accessorising with a scattering of jewellery.

Meanwhile birthday girl Madonna looked incredible in a black lace look with layers of necklaces, multiple rings and a top hat.

Placing a protective around her son, the mother and son stood in for a family snap during the lively affair.

Madonna adopted David in 2006, when he was just 13 months old with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

After seeing him sick with pneumonia at an orphanage in Malawi that she’d help fund, the couple got the ball rolling with his adoption.

Speaking about her son’s love for fashion on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon recently she said: ‘He can put on any outfit and look swag as you know what.

‘It’s really irritating. He wears my clothes and looks better in them. He can even wear a dress and look butch.’

The mother-of-six was seen matching with David back in May, while attending the WBA World Lightweight Championship at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The duo wowed in Adidas outfits, with Madonna wearing a black tracksuit and David sporting a red and white dress, a layer of necklaces and black sneakers.

Over the years the Queen of Pop has also proudly shared snaps of David’s stylish outfits, including a clip of him wearing one of her flowing white dresses last month.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Vogue hitmaker said that, like his mother, the teenager – whom she adopted in 2006, when he was just 13 months old, while she funded an orphanage in Malawi – is also working on his own music.

‘He’s going to end up being one of your guests,’ she foreshadowed, saying he has ‘everything’ needed to be a star.

    Fallon agreed, replying, ‘He’s got it. He’s got magic. He’s funny, he’s charming, he’s athletic, he’s a good-looking dude.’

Aside from David, Madonna also adopted daughter Mercy James, 16, from Malawi in 2009, followed by twins Stella and Estere, now nine, in 2017, when they were both 4-years-old.

Madonna is also mom to son Rocco Ritchie, 22 – whom she shares with ex-husband Guy Ritchie – and daughter Lourdes Leon, 25, with ex Carlos Leon.

While her illustrious career has spanned more than five decades, Madonna revealed during the show that her reps thought her career was over after an accidental backside flash in the early 1980s.

The star appeared on the show to promote her new album Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones on The Tonight Show, which will be released on August 19.

Madonna performed at the very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984, when her dress flipped up and showed part of her backside… which her reps thought would be the end of her career.

Fallon pointed out that it said in the liner notes Like a Virgin was supposed to be the first single, which Madonna said she thought was ‘controversial,’ though it turned out to be nowhere near controversial as her wardrobe malfunction.

‘I did that show and I walked down the very steep stairs of the wedding cake and I got to the bottom and I started dancing around in my white stiletto pumps fell off,’ Madonna began.

‘And I was trying to do this smooth move like, dive for the shoe and look like it was choreography. And my dress flipped up and my butt was showing. Can you imagine,’ she added.

‘Those were the days when you shouldn’t show your butt to have a career. Now it’s the opposite,’ she continued.

The music icon added that it, ‘happened by accident and when I didn’t even know my butt was showing,’ adding, ‘it wasn’t even like the whole butt it was just like a butt cheek, like half a butt cheek.’

‘Yeah, when I went backstage, my manager told me my career is over with.’

‘Peru with my brother’: Ed Sheeran shares throwback snap alongside his late friend Jamal Edwards

Ed Sheeran has shared a throwback snap alongside his late friend Jamal Edwards who died in February aged 31.

The singer, 31, took to Instagram on Wednesday and posted a photo of the pair where they appeared to be at a bar enjoying a drink.

Ed appeared in good spirits in the photo as he was seen grinning at his phone while wearing a tie-dye jumper.

He was sat alongside music entrepreneur Jamal who was dressed in a grey plaid jumper and a black T-shirt.

Ed and Jamal were friends for years and the hitmaker worked on a remix of the song Peru by Fireboy through Jamal.

The singer previously told how Fireboy asked Ed to be involved in the remix through Jamal.

He said: ‘So I got sent this a week ago. A friend of mine, Jamal who runs SBTV sent it to me. He said,’Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.’

‘It’s a song that’s blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment and their club scene runs over Christmas.’

‘So you basically put a song to the club in the middle of December, which would seem a weird thing to do in England. But yeah, I’ve done the remix for this song, but this is the original and it’s an earworm.’

Jamal died from a cardiac arrest after a late night cocaine and drinking session, an inquest heard earlier this month.

Three small snap bags containing the remnants of white powder were found on the son of Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards after he collapsed at his west London home in February this year, the hearing was told.

Assistant West London Coroner Ivor Collett today ruled that Jamal died after a cardiac arrest brought on by taking cocaine and drinking alcohol.

His heartbroken mother, Brenda, described him as ‘a beautiful and selfless person’ in a statement read to the inquest. Earlier this year she said she wanted his death to ‘help drive more conversation about the unpredictability of recreational drugs’.

Mr Hopper said that ‘he appeared to be his normal self’ and they ‘began to chat, smoke some weed and drink’ – but his famous friend then spoke about the pressure he was under.

After a while Jamal became erratic and paranoid and began throwing objects around the room before collapsing, the inquest was told.

Despite the best efforts of Mr Hopper and later his uncle, Rodney Artman, as well as paramedics, Jamal did not wake up and was declared dead at 10.36am on Sunday February 20.

Mr Hopper said in a statement read to the inquest by the coroner: ‘When he came in he appeared to be his normal self and it appeared that he had just been out.

‘We began to chat, smoke some weed and drink. He told me he was under a lot of pressure. There were periods of talking followed by silences.

‘Over time Jamal became quite paranoid and was saying I had things in my hands when I didn’t. Anytime I moved he began panicking. I told him to calm down, but he became increasingly irate.

‘He was grabbing things, throwing them around the room. He was panicking and sweating, I spent ages trying to get him to open the door.’

Mr Hopper said that he kept trying to open a window, but Mr Edwards wouldn’t let him and he eventually collapsed unconscious by the bathroom door.

After 9.30am Jamal’s uncle arrived and he said he performed CPR for about 10 minutes until paramedics arrived and took over, but they were unable to resuscitate them.

The inquest heard that police treated the death as non-suspicious, but found three small snap bags with the remnants of white powder in Mr Edwards’s pocket.

Toxicology tests found cocaine and alcohol in his system, but no cannabis.

There was also MDMA in Mr Edwards’ urine but not blood, indicating that he had taken the drug recently – but not on the night of his death.

In a statement, Met Police Detective Sergeant Luke Taylor said: ‘There were no signs of trauma to either party.

‘Three small snap bags were found in his pocket with remnants of a white powder and bloody tissues, associated with the taking of Class A drugs.

‘He suffered a cardiac episode from taking recreational drugs and alcohol.’

Mr Edwards’s GP confirmed that while he had traits of sickle cell disease, he was not on any regular medication.

Summing up at West London Coroner’s Court, Mr Collett said: ‘He had worked as a DJ at a venue in Islington.

‘At around 4.30am he arrived at home and joined his close friend.

‘They had some drinks and had arranged to smoke cannabis. Although he appeared normal at first his behaviour changed and he exhibited signs of anxiety, paranoia and irritation.

‘Despite his friend’s efforts to calm him down he began throwing things around the room before collapsing on the floor.

‘The police found drug paraphernalia, the toxicology tests found recent evidence of drug use.

‘The insinuation is that Jamal had taken cocaine in sufficient quantity to cause an adverse reaction brought about by cocaine toxicity. This then caused cardiac arrhythmia which resulted in his death.’

Jamal was awarded an MBE in 2014 for his services to music and he was an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust.

In a statement read to the hearing, Brenda Edwards said: ‘Jamal was a beautiful and selfless person.

‘Since growing up with his family in Acton he made it his personal mission to open doors for others to walk through.

‘To help people through life, to love and to laugh. And most importantly, to just make people happy.’

She added: ‘Jamal helped so many, working tirelessly to give a platform to people.

‘His charitable work stretched near and far, from working at homeless shelters to giving back to his roots in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

‘We are so proud of everything Jamal achieved over the course of his 31 years and how he impacted others’ lives. We miss him so much.’

Bella Hadid admits she wasn’t allowed to grow up in ‘Muslim culture’

Bella Hadid has detailed how she felt she was denied the opportunity to grow up in a ‘Muslim culture’ with her Palestinian father after her family was ‘extracted’ to California.

The model, 25, is set to make her acting debut in the Hulu series, Ramy, and has now revealed the role reignited her desire to embrace her heritage, which she was denied following her parents’ divorce.

Bella also revealed that as the only Arab girl in her class at school, she was subject to racist bullying which left her feeling ‘really sad and lonely.’

Bella was born in Washington to Dutch supermodel Yolanda Hadid, and Palestinian real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, but the couple split when she was just four years old.

Speaking to GQ Magazine, the model explained that while she is half-Palestinian she yearned for a chance to explore that side of her history, as she and her family relocated to Santa Barbara following her parents’ divorce.

‘And I got extracted when we moved to California,’ Bella said.

‘I would have loved to grow up and be with my dad every day and studying and really being able to practice, just in general being able to live in a Muslim culture, but I wasn’t given that.’

Bella went onto reveal that while she was filming the series Remy she was brought to tears when the crew surprised her with a Free Palestine T-shirt.

‘I couldn’t handle my emotions,’ she added. ‘Growing up and being Arab, it was the first time that I’d ever been with like-minded people. I was able to see myself.’

She added that her friendship with the show’s star Ramy Youssef helped her to feel more comfortable exploring her faith.

Earlier this Bella admitted that she regretted undergoing a nose job at the age of 14, telling Vogue: ‘I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors. I think I would have grown into it.’

Bella went on to note that the criticism of her looks made her feel as though she wasn’t worthy of being deemed a supermodel.

She explained: ‘I’ve had this impostor syndrome where people made me feel like I didn’t deserve any of this. People always have something to say, but what I have to say is, I’ve always been misunderstood in my industry and by the people around me.’

Growing up with a supermodel for an elder sister didn’t help matters either, with Bella noting she had spent her life comparing herself to Gigi, 26.

She explained: ‘I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing. That’s really what people said about me. And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it.

‘I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety—what was I doing getting into this business? But over the years I became a good actress.

‘I put on a very smiley face, or a very strong face. I always felt like I had something to prove. People can say anything about how I look, about how I talk, about how I act. But in seven years I never missed a job, canceled a job, was late to a job. No one can ever say that I don’t work my a*s off.’

While Bella spent her teens growing up in Gigi’s shadow she admitted that she struggled to remember her earlier years due to ‘childhood trauma’, that she did not touch on further.

As well as elder sister Gigi, Bella grew up alongside model brother Anwar, 22,on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California, before the family moved to Beverly Hills.

Bella suffered with mental health issues during her childhood, revealing she developed anorexia at high school.

Bella had been prescribed extended-release Adderall for her inattention, as doctors believed she had suffered with ADHD, but Bella claimed the appetite-suppressant effect of the medication kickstarted an eating disorder.

While Bella says she now has a healthy relationship with food, she still struggles with dysmorphic feelings, admitting: ‘I can barely look in the mirror to this day because of that period in my life.’

The Hadid sisters have long had their diets scrutinised in public, with old episodes of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills showing the pair willing to do what it takes to become models.

Martha Kalifatidis makes rare appearance online following mysterious illness

Martha Kalifatidis has made a rare appearance after months of staying offline due to a mystery illness.

The former reality star managed a slight smile as she rested her head on Michael’s back at her parent’s Melbourne home.

‘Slowly getting better,’ Michael captioned the post shared to his Instagram, before adding a red love heart.

Michael then revealed he has been suffering from his own health issues.

‘I’ve been having abdominal pain for the past few months now so finally went to get an X-Ray,’ he said. He also underwent a CT scan.

Michael didn’t reveal his results, but finished by saying he had given himself the all clear after the appointments.

Michael and Martha recently returned to Australia after Martha’s illness forced the couple to cut their trip short.

Last month, Michael revealed his partner had been suffering from a viral infection and Martha broke her silence shortly after.

‘Hi, everyone. I know I’ve been quiet on here. I’ve been bedridden for a few weeks, but I’m finally home and getting the care I need,’ Martha wrote on Instagram at the time.

She continued: ‘I’ll be back soon. Thanks for all the messages. Sorry I haven’t got back to anyone. I really do appreciate the support though.’

Michael revealed his partner was unwell after fans noticed she had been uncharacteristically silent on Instagram.

He posted a photo on his Stories of himself holding the influencer’s hand as she lay in bed next to a half-eaten sandwich.

‘I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has reached out and messaged us asking about Martha,’ he wrote.

‘She’s been offline and unwell with a viral infection. It’s taken a toll on her energy levels, but she’s okay and on the mend.’

While they were overseas, the pair visited Italy, the UK, and Turkey.
