Love Island’s Danica Taylor left devastated as she announces the death of a close friend

Love Island’s Danica Taylor has revealed her ‘utter shock’ as she announced the death of one of her close friends.

The dancer, 21, took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday night to reveal the tragic news to her followers.

She shared a throwback photo of her as a teenager with her arm around her loved one in a field.

She wrote a tribute over the top, writing: ‘I am in utter shock, rest in peace you beautiful boy, a friendship I’ll treasure forever RIP’.

It comes after TOWIE’s Roman Hackett revealed that Danica spent the night at his house before they were pictured kissing at a train station close by.

Danica confirmed she had called it quits with footballer Jamie Allen, 27, after she was seen sharing a smooch with Roman, 20.

But Roman, who appeared on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast on Friday, has now claimed he and Danica shared several kisses after she responded to his Instagram messages while still ‘chatting to Jamie’.

When asked by Will how it all started he explained: ‘I dm’d her and she replied and I did it again and she didn’t reply. So I messaged her on Instagram that’s how we first met.

‘And then I met her again at a Married At First Sight event and I asked her why she would reply and not reply again. She was like “obviously I was chatting to Jamie” but why did she reply in the first place then?’

Will then asked: ‘Oh so she replied to you at first when she was still chatting to Jamie’ with Roman confirming.

Will then brought up the kiss which caused confusion among fans: ‘So there must have been a couple of kisses because the photo I saw was in the daytime. So the Married At First Sight event was at night, I was invited so I know, so how many kisses were there?’

Roman added: ‘Only a few. We vibed and we kissed.’

Will asked for an update on their situation now: ‘So what happened who called it off? Or are you guys still talking? Talk to me about that picture’

Roman said: So when that came out in the press, that was at a station near mine, like five minutes away from my house.’

Will quickly caught on and asked: ‘So she was at yours?’ while a shocked Roman covered his mouth after realising what he’d said.

The pair burst out laughing, with Will sipping his tea and Roman admitting he’d ‘put himself right in it’.

Roman continued: ‘When that picture came out she messaged me asking if I’d saw it and I told her I literally dropped her off for like two minutes and that’s come up, random. She then messaged again asking if I’d set it up and I told her no.’

‘For one when I got out the car I didn’t kiss her, I gave her a hug and she pulled me back to kiss me. I said if I’d set it up I would have stuck it on you so then we had a little disagreement and we haven’t spoke since then.’

Danica previously addressed the kiss, claiming it ‘looked a lot worse than what it was.’

Speaking to The Mirror, Danica explained: ‘That is very… It’s been misconstrued a lot it was just a goodbye kiss, it looks a lot worse than what it is.

‘He’s a friend and nothing more. I’m not seeing Roman we’ll clear that right up.’

She later added: ‘Me and Jamie were never together. We came out the villa and we very much liked each other and things were going well, but it sort of started to fizzle out – he has his life, I have mine.’

Danica and fellow contestant Jamie became the first pair to split upon their departure from the villa, MailOnline revealed.

Danica, who’s a dancer from Leicester, struggled to find love on the ITV2 dating series but coupled up with Jamie during the final weeks of the competition and they narrowly missed out on the final.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Danica and Jamie have gone their separate ways.

‘They were yet to make their relationship official but have decided that they didn’t quite work together romantically.

‘Jamie has just signed for a new football team and Danica is busy pursuing endless opportunities after leaving the Love Island villa and they sadly drifted apart.

‘They’re good friends still and will continue to support each other in everything they do.’

MailOnline approached Danica and Jamie’s representatives for comment at the time.

Harry and Meghan trailer would have been ‘questioned by Ofcom’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s docuseries has divided Netflix viewers as the various bombshells in the first three episodes sparked both a backlash and adoration for the couple. However, some producers have claimed the series’ trailer would not have been tolerate by British broadcasters due to regulating body Ofcom.

In the trailer, Meghan and Harry teased their Netflix series as the explained it was there chance to tell their side of the story.

Throughout the clip, viewers were shown footage of the press hounding the royal couple.

However, there were two pieces of stock footage that appeared to show the couple surrounded by photographers but these were in fact from different occasions.

At one point, it seemed as if photographers were rushing towards the couple when they visited Brixton, London.

Instead, this was footage of the press surrounding Katie Price at Crawley magistrates court.

Another clip was taken from footage of Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen leaving his flat to begin a prison sentence.

Former commissioning editor for BBC’s Panorama and Dispatches on Channel 4 claimed these two bits of footage would not have made it into the trailer if a British broadcaster had commissioned the series.

Peter Grimsdale said: “It’s almost hard-wired into us to make sure we know where every shot comes from because that’s the sort of thing that if there was complaints about it, you would be in real trouble.

“There’s a certain duty of care. I think people working for Sky would feel the same way.

“It’s partly a function of regulations just being different in America.”

However, David Elstein, a former head of programmes at Thames Television and BskyB, and the founding chief executive of Channel 5 disagreed.

He argued that the trailer of the documentary should not be judged as harshly as the series itself.

“These seem pretty minor misdemeanours to me and would be unlikely to attract much attention from Ofcom [if Netflix were subject to regulation].”

He added: “I would have two watchwords here: mountains and molehills.”

Express.co.uk contacted a representative for comment.

“There’s a certain duty of care. I think people working for Sky would feel the same way.

“It’s partly a function of regulations just being different in America.”

However, David Elstein, a former head of programmes at Thames Television and BskyB, and the founding chief executive of Channel 5 disagreed.

In the documentary, Harry addressed how he felt the Royal Family let down Meghan.

“The direction from the Palace was don’t say anything,” says Harry. “But what people need to understand is, as far as a lot of the family were concerned, everything that she was being put through, they had been put through as well.

“So it was almost like a rite of passage, and some of the members of the family were like ‘my wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?”‘

“I said ‘the difference here is the race element.’”

James Martin forced to have operation after ‘suffering’ with knee

The television chef was rustling up some festive food on Friday’s instalment of This Morning when he addressed his upcoming surgery. The 50-year-old revealed he has been booked in for a knee operation next week as he apologised to ITV viewers for “hobbling” around while cooking.

When host Phillip Schofield asked James if he was working throughout the festive period, he replied: “No, I’m not, no.

“This is my last day at work because I am in surgery next week as I’m having an operation.”

Phillip said he wasn’t going to mention James’ upcoming operation with ITV viewers.

James chimed in: “I’ve been hobbling around, so I do apologise, I’ve hurt my knee.”

Phillip thought James had been hiding his knee problems well but said: “You have completely stuffed up your knee.”

The TV chef replied: “It’s been suffering for a while but now I am eventually going in [to surgery].”

Co-host Holly Willoughby advised the well-loved chef to look after himself ahead of her operation.

James ended by telling them: “It’s gone, it’s finally gone.”

James recently sparked concern among his social media followers after he announced he was in hospital for an MRI scan.

He shared the health update on his Instagram on Monday, November 21.

The Saturday Morning star penned alongside a photograph of his beloved dog Ralph: “Seems as if we are both getting old fella! Dropped him off for an op this morning, now it seems I need one.”

A second image on the post showed the door of the hospital’s MRI suite.

James shared in the comment section that Ralph was coping well and was “on the mend”.

“Me on the other hand, well, we will see,” James added.

Loose Women’s Katie Piper commented on his post: “Hope it goes well.”

Janey said: “Wishing [Ralph] a speedy recovery and hope you’re OK.”

Coronation Street’s Griff secret link to cobbles resident exposed

Coronation Street’s troubled teen Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) is set to discover just how dangerous his new friend Griff (Michael Condron) actually is. Max will be convinced to lie for Griff as his hate-fuelled campaign on the cobbles is revealed.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Coronation Street fans will see the racist storyline reach its climax as Max quickly discovers how dangerous Griff actually is.

In scenes which will be aired next week undercover cop Spider Nugent, (Martin Hancock) is uneasy as he sees Griff getting closer to the troubled teen.

The former eco-warrior turned cop wants to expose the gang and decides to do a little digging.

He wants to find out who is funding the gang leader’s far-right campaign and when he learns the identity of the benefactor, he’s horrified.

Meanwhile, Max’s dad David Platt, (Jack P. Shepherd), is left feeling uneasy as he heads off on the camping trip with Griff.

From the beginning, David has not been comfortable with who Max has been knocking around with and has been suspicious of Griff’s true intentions.

Next week his fears are going to be proved right as their friendship takes a dark turn.

Spoilers for the show reveal Max is left horrified when the camping trip doesn’t end the way he expected.

Griff wants Max to lie to the police, but if he does, this could potentially leave him in serious trouble.

There is also tension between Toyah, (Georgia Taylor) and Spider as he begs her to keep quiet about his role as an undercover officer.

The racism and grooming storyline has proved to be uncomfortable viewing for many Corrie fans.

Ofcom confirmed it has received a number of complaints which they said “related to the racial violence storyline.”.

The soap has aired hate fuelled violent attacks which included scenes of Daryan Zahawi being attacked by the gang.

The gang originally posed as an environmentalist group but their racist and far-right motives became clearer to the Weatherfield residents.

Coronation Street producer Iain McLeod said of the decision for Max to be a victim of grooming and radicalisation: “Overall, Max’s story is one about the grooming of a vulnerable teenager at a point where he’s feeling most alienated and disenfranchised.

“The story will encompass the traditional recruitment techniques of extremist groups, and we’ll see Max befriended in person by older, mentor-like figures that will give him a sense of loyalty and brotherhood.”

Iain added: “In the end, we wanted this to be a story about communication within families – what are the right and wrong ways to talk to younger family members who are gravitating towards extreme views.

For the conclusion of the story, David’s misjudged attempts to deal with Max will drive the narrative to a shocking and thought-provoking climax.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 pm on ITV.

Ricky Gervais accepts apology from James Corden over joke ‘plagiarism’

Ricky Gervais has revealed James Corden contacted him after the Late Late Show host appeared to steal one of the comic’s jokes. The Office comedian was in a forgiving mood when he received the call from his Gavin and Stacey contemporary. Ricky initially poked fun at James’ routine when it first aired on CBS last month.

The After Life creator understood the culprit for the theft of his material was probably not the TV host.

Almost word for word on his hit chat show, James repeated a gag surrounding the perils of Twitter

However, after widespread condemnation and mocking, he got in touch with an understanding Ricky.

Speaking on BBC’s podcast Headliners he was asked by Nihal Arthanayake if he had received an apology from the TV personality.

Ricky replied: “‘He did. I said don’t worry about it, I said ‘If your writers were in the back of the room when I was warming up and you got it out there before I did it on Netflix’.

“But, whatever you think of James Corden there is no way he knowingly ripped off my joke and thought he’d get away with it.

“But again I don’t know how he got to it because the writer must have walked him through and said ‘Do this and do that’.”

The comedian offered up a possible scenario in which the gaffe happened.

He added: “Or, he saw it five years ago and completely forgot about it and thought he’d made it up. That can happen as well.

“There are some plagiarists but a lot of it is genuinely accidental. So that is clearly my routine but I don’t think he came up with it at all.

“I think a writer pitched that to him and didn’t tell him it was mine, or the writer forgot.”

Ricky told the BBC Radio Five Live presenter there was “no way” James intended on stealing his material.

The furore over the segment from James’ stateside show was in regard to the anger which appears on social media.

He said: “When you see Elon Musk talk about Twitter he does this thing where he goes, ‘Well, it’s the town square’.”

James continued: “If someone puts up a poster in a town square that says ‘Guitar lessons available’, you don’t get people in the town going, ‘I don’t want to play guitar! I want to play the piano, you piece of s**t.’

“Well, that sign wasn’t for you. It was for somebody else. You don’t have to get mad about all of it.”

Ricky quote-tweeted the sketch and wrote: “The bit about the town square advert for guitar lessons is brilliant.”

He posted the remark to his 15 million followers but soon removed the cheeky comment.

The David Brent actor admitted he felt guilty over the barrage of abuse headed towards James.

After the mix-up, Ricky described James as “horrified” by the apparent blunder.

After Life series three is available to stream on Netflix

Annabelle also appeared on This Morning and said: ‘I’ve done a few days filming so far. It’s very different filming a soap to doing films because it’s much faster, whereas there’s lots of time on films between scenes.

Derren Brown is selling his stuffed two-headed calf and vast taxidermy collection

He’s made his name with unsettling and unusual television shows, featuring everything from Russian roulette to a séance.

So it seems fitting that when Derren Brown has a de-clutter, the results are out of the ordinary, too.

The illusionist and showman has put a large collection of taxidermy up for auction on Monday, because he is moving house.

Among the items that must go are stuffed monkeys and puppies, a two-headed calf (listed as a ‘genuine deformity’) and a baby giraffe.

There is also an ‘arachnid lamb’ with eight legs, a rare French mouse gambling tableau, a pig floating on a balloon, a hanging opossum and an albino wallaby.

Brown has spoken in interviews about his passion for taxidermy, which began when he was a student.

‘I collect ethically sourced stuffed pets and animals that have died in zoos.’

Over the years he has amassed around 200 items, and every other Sunday goes around the house with a leaf blower, because ‘it’s the only way to get the dust off and stop the moths’.

Not long ago, he recalled, he got a text “from a guy called Dave”.

‘He said: “I’ve got a kiwi, are you interested?” He pulled up and he did, in fact, have a kiwi in the back of his van. But I am really trying to cut down.’

Last year he moved to the countryside from his house in London, with his partner Justin, and admitted he was starting to find the collection a little disturbing.

‘We didn’t have any proper lighting until recently, so you’d be walking past all these dead animals in the dark, which made for quite a creepy environment.’

Friends say he is moving again, hence the sale, which will take place at Wimbledon Auctions.
