Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Sally Obermeder’s breast cancer bond

TV stars Kerri-Anne Kennerley and Sally Obermeder have revealed the bond they shared while battling breast cancer.

Kerri-Anne told The Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday that she first had a deep connection with Sally in 2013 after she checked into North Sydney’s Mater Hospital for treatment.

At the time, Sally, now 48, had just undergone surgery in the same hospital for breast cancer too.

The stars soon became fast friends, Kerri-Anne recalled.

‘Something in me made me seek her out,’ the Dancing with the Stars favourite revealed.

Kerri-Anne, 68, said that at the time she knew of Sally’s struggles.

Sally had been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2011, at age 38, while undergoing a routine check-up when pregnant with her daughter Annabelle.

‘Before I had been diagnosed, I had followed her story,’ Kerri-Anne said. ‘And I thought she was incredibly inspiring.’

After Kerri-Anne sought out Sally to ‘say hi,’ while still in the hospital, the stars bonded over their shared battle with the disease.

The pals were recently reunited at a launch party for Mercedes-Benz in Sydney this week.

In 2015, during an appearance on Seven’s The Daily Edition, Kerri-Anne tearfully recalled her first meeting with Sally.

‘You were the one who gave me the strength,’ she told her during the live interview.

‘Nobody really knows, the day I went into surgery, I’d heard all about you, but never really met you,’ she continued.

Kerri-Anne continued: ‘I knew you were in the same day for surgery, in the same hospital, can you believe?

‘I walked into your room, you gave me the most extraordinary support and what you were going through was so much worse.’

Sally was declared cancer-free in 2012, after undergoing chemotherapy, two mastectomies and reconstructive surgery.

Olivia Newton-John taught Suzanne Somers to not be afraid of cancer EXCLUSIVE

Three’s Company actress Suzanne Somers has offered her condolences on the sad passing of Grease actress Olivia Newton-John on Monday at the age of 73.

Both were blonde bombshells in the 1970s, both faced mega fame and both were breast cancer fighters, which they bonded over.

Now Somers has talked to DailyMail.com exclusively about what it was like to have the Australian mega star as a friend.

‘Everyone would want an Olivia Newton-John in their life,’ began the 75-year-old beauty who noted she met Olivia at one of the singer’s birthday parties.

‘Olivia taught me not to be afraid when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.’

Somers was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She had a lumpectomy and radiation.

Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992.

Suzanne was impressed with how down-to-earth the Have You Ever Been Mellow singer was.

‘Olivia was exactly what you would expect. She was kind and sweet. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone,’ shared the 70s and 80s pinup with DailyMail.com.

And she felt like Newton-John was like a ‘sister’ after they had a shared struggle.

‘There is a sisterhood that grows larger every year. It’s a sisterhood you never want to join but when allowed entry you find great comfort with other “sisters,”‘ began the actress.

‘Olivia provided great comfort for me when diagnosed 25 years ago. Her fight was my fight, as she won, I won.

‘She taught all of us so much through her bravery and “never give up” philosophy. We got strength through Olivia and her example of life.

‘As a 70’s icon she lived a full life. I loved her and will miss my “sister” forever.’

On Instagram Suzanne wrote a loving tribute for Olivia: ‘There is a sisterhood that grows larger every year. It’s a sisterhood you never want to join, but when allowed entry you find great comfort with other sisters.

‘Olivia provided great comfort for me when diagnosed 25 years ago. Her fight was my fight, as she won, I won. She taught all of us so much through her bravery and ‘never give up’ philosophy. We got strength through Olivia and her example of life. As a 70’s icon she lived a full life. I loved her and will miss my “sister” forever.’

Newton-John died aged 73 on Monday.

The Xanadu star died with loved ones by her side at her ranch home in Southern California, according to her husband, John Easterling, who did not give a cause of death.

A Facebook post read: We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.’

However, a source known to TMZ said: ‘After a 30-year cancer journey, she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer,’ which was first diagnosed in 1992, more than 30 years ago. In 2013, it resurfaced before going into remission again until it reappeared in 2017.

Olivia got her big break in the 1978 movie musical as good two shoes teenager Sandy Olsen – in which she starred opposite John Travolta’s hunky bad boy Danny Zuko – and originated the new song Hopelessly Devoted To You.

This came after her pop career – which began in the early 70s – where Olivia made her name with a string of pop hits, such as If Not for You, Let Me Be There and the smash hit Have You Never Been Mellow.

The Glee guest star had daughter Chloe Lattanzi, now 36, with her ex Matt Lattanzi, who she married in 1984 and split from in 1995.

Olivia tied the knot with John in 2008, who appealed for donations to her cancer charity in her memory.

He added on the post: ‘Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.

‘In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).’

John concluded: ‘Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.’

Vogue Williams opts for laidback beach glam in a rainbow kaftan in Ibiza

They’re enjoying a sun-soaked summer break in Ibiza with their young family.

And Vogue Williams looked the picture of laidback beach glamour as she enjoyed an afternoon at sea with her husband Spencer Matthews and their three children Theodore, three, Gigi, two, and Otto, four months, on the Balearic Island on Monday.

The model and DJ, 36, exuded style in a rainbow crochet kaftan, teamed with a black bikini and Birkenstock sandals as she prepared to board a boat with her family.

The TV personality accessorised with a panama hat, sunglasses and gold jewellery as she pushed little Gigi in her pram.

Spencer, 34, showcased his six-pack abs in floral swim shorts and an unbuttoned blue patterned shorts.

The family were joined by Vogue’s older sister, Amber, and another friend for their day out in the sunshine.

Vogue later slipped into a striking dusk pink bikini top and matching sarong as she hit the beach, with a snap posted to her Instagram on Tuesday.

The reality star shared a series of images from the family’s Ibiza break on Monday, displaying her jaw-dropping figure in a leopard print bikini.

The model wowed in the two-piece while enjoying a day on board a speed boat in Ibiza as she cuddled her adorable daughter Gigi.

Vogue and former Made In Chelsea star Spencer looked more loved-up than ever as he planted a big kiss on her cheek while relaxing on the beach.

The TV personality grinned towards the camera as she called husband Spencer her ‘bestie’.

The trip away comes after Vogue shared plans to have a fourth child with former Made In Chelsea star Spencer.

The presenter told MailOnline she would be happy with a fourth addition to her family after breezing through her labour with son Otto James in April.

In an exclusive interview, Vogue said: ‘I would have a million kids, I love having children around us and having a big family.

‘I hate the thought of never having a baby again because I love the whole newborn phase. Being a mum is literally my favourite thing in the world.

‘I would like to think that we’d have one more but right now I need to see how we get on as a family of five. I had a lovely labour with Otto.

‘I had a great day with Spencer. I loved the whole day. I walked into the hospital and thought I’d do this as a job if I could just give birth for other people – and not be pregnant – I would happily do it.

‘We were lucky because I know it’s not the same for everybody. It’s painful, the gas and air was great fun, and I did that and had an epidural at the end, which was very much needed.’

Vogue and Spencer have been together since meeting while competing in Channel 4 celebrity ski competition, The Jump, in early 2017.

The couple announced their engagement in February 2018 and got married in June 2018 in a secret ceremony in the Scottish Highlands at Spencer’s family’s 30,000-acre estate.

First Dates’ Fred Sirieix shows off his incredibly ripped torso while working out on exercise bike

Fred Sirieix exhibited his incredibly ripped torso while working out on an exercise bike, as the shirtless star shared a video to Instagram on Tuesday.

It comes just a day after the 50-year-old First Dates star’s daughter Andrea, 17, took home a gold medal for mixed diving at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

He went shirtless while sporting just a pair of black shorts while confessing he’s ‘grateful to be here’ and ‘doesn’t know how much time he has left’ in his caption.

The TV personality wrote in full: ‘Every day that I wake up I feel lucky and grateful to be here. I don’t know how much time I have left on my clock.

‘So I always do all I can to make the most of it. To enjoy and have fun (and be good). And spend time with those I love. And today is a new day. A whole life in itself.

‘So after my ☕️ I got on to the exercise bike to get a good sweat before going to work. I’m still competing with the kids and think I can win.’

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix added to her medal tally on the final day of the Commonwealth Games on Monday.

She has already managed to bag a silver medal in the 10m synchronised platform competition and gold in the 10m platform diving event.

Andrea won another gold as she and partner Noah Williams came out victorious in the mixed discipline. Their fifth and final dive was awarded 74.88 for a total of 333.06, which saw them finish clear of the rest.

The pair’s England teammates Kyle Kothari and Lois Toulson bagged the silver within the category.

Andrea looked shocked by her win and hugged Noah, Kyle and Lois in delight as they celebrated England’s first and second places.

Her proud father, First Dates star Fred, 50, showed his support as he tweeted out a photo of a young Andrea, and informed his followers: ‘One more push my love. Mixed #diving synchro at 11.20!’

After the results, he took to Twitter once again and wrote: ‘It’s gold in the mixed #diving #10m #platform #synchro I’m crying! Andrea and Noah well done to you both.’

The win helped push Team England to their biggest Commonwealth Games medal haul ever, beating Glasgow’s tally of 174.

Andrea, who celebrated her success with a belly flop into the pool, said: ‘I’m very honoured to have been a part of this team, it was extremely strong and we showed everyone how powerful we are.

‘I came here with no expectations, I just wanted to have fun and improve all of my dives. I made a decision to train even harder than I was over the last couple of months and it definitely worked.

‘I’m not going to put pressure on myself. Whether there is external pressure or not the internal pressure is the one which makes you crumble.’

Regarding the belly flop, the teenager added: ‘I told Noah, if we do well we can all belly flop (to celebrate). So I got Kyle, Lois, me and Noah and said “come and guys let’s go and belly flop”.

‘They didn’t really know what was happening but we had fun and it was the perfect way to end the competition.

‘Now we have got Europeans so I will focus on that, after that I will take a break, have my summer holiday and come back even stronger.”

Andrea has been one of the stories of the Games, with father Fred, the maitre d’ on Channel 4’s First Dates, promising to take his daughter to New York after her first gold.

Fred was there as she won silver on Saturday, snapping pictures of his daughter from the sidelines at Sandwell Aquatics Centre.

Andrea and her partner alongside Eden Cheng nabbed 76.80 on their final dive with a back two and a half somersaults one and a half twists pike, with their final score coming to 298.86.

The TV personality was joined by her friends and family in Devon for the gorgeous ceremony to her fiancé, whose identity she keeps secret.

Letting her hair down in style, Laura chugged on a pint of beer as she shared a glimpse at her fun-filled nuptials on Instagram Story on Tuesday.

Laura looked stunning as she gave a look at her plunging wedding dress which was cinched in at the waist.

The corset-style top of the dress featured a v-neckline and intricate lace patterns over sheer fabric while the skirt was a traditional puffy wedding dress style.

Her long veil completed the look and she styled her blonde tresses into an up do while opting for glamorous makeup.

For another wedding shot, she kissed her beau at the altar who wore a light blue jacket and cream chinos.

Other snaps showed her posing with friends and family and dancing the night away at the raucous reception.

Laura announced she was engaged in June 2021 as she showed off her dazzling diamond ring on Instagram.

She admitted that she has always kept her relationship and partner off social media but wanted to share the happy news because she was ‘over the moon’.

Posting a picture of herself in a strapless patterned bikini with her dazzling diamond engagement ring on show, Laura penned: ‘Well I better get planning that hen do [ring emoji].

‘Always keep my relationship off social media and I love that it’s just for me, but wanted to share this with you all cos I’m absolutely over the moon. Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine.’

Laura shot to fame on the channel four dating show First Dates as a waitress and in 2020 revealed she had become a fully registered paramedic.

The reality star previously revealed that she has been asked out by ‘brave’ contestants behind-the-scenes of the show despite having a partner.

Talking to the Express in 2020, Laura said: ‘I’ve had a few DMs just saying, “Hi, my date didn’t go well. Do you want to go out?”

‘I think I’ve had one that came back and gave me their number after. That happened once. I thought, “bl**dy hell, they’re brave, aren’t they?”‘ Yeah you get a few messages.’

Last year Laura revealed that she hadn’t taken part in the new series of Channel 4’s First Dates after filming moved to Manchester from its usual restaurant in London’s Paternoster Chop House, next to St Paul’s Cathedral.

In a post on Instagram, Laura said at the time: ‘As you can see, I do not appear in this new series of First Dates.

‘They have moved up north to a new restaurant and wanted to freshen up the team for this series with some new local faces among the old faces, so I will not be featuring in this new series of First Dates unfortunately.

‘To be honest, I don’t actually know how I would have fit filming in this year with working during the pandemic.

‘I’ve needed every day off to chill out so it’s actually been a welcome break. I’ve missed the whole team though, that’s for sure.

‘This doesn’t mean it’s over and I’m still very much part of the First Dates family and hopefully I’ll be back again real soon.

‘Can’t wait to watch the new series and good luck to the new waiters/waitresses this series,’ followed by a heart emoji.
