Things are set to heat up on EastEnders in coming weeks.
In a new picture from the soap, character Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) is seen confronting Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) in one dramatic scene.
In a teaser for the show, it’s believed Janine will be caught out in a lie by her rival.
In the picture, the pair are seen going face-to-face and looking angry during their showdown.
In a teaser shared last month, character Mick Carter was seen getting kneed in his nether regions by Janine.
Filmed in the car park on Deal Beach, in Kent, Kellie Bright, 46 – who plays Mick’s estranged wife Linda – was seen coming to his rescue before chasing after Janine.
Kellie was then photographed getting in the car with her, the pair are then involved a high speed chase where they crash off a cliff into the sea.
Mick was seen jumping in to try and save them, but tragically it appears that he gets lost at sea while the ladies were heard screaming his name.
Last week, Kellie revealed what viewers can expect from this year’s ‘explosive’ Christmas episode, which will see her co-star Danny Dyer (Mick) leave the soap after nine years.
And she says she hopes his departure from Walford will open up new opportunities for her character as she stays on as a single mother to two children, one of which she shares with Max Branning.
She told The Mirror: ‘We’ve only just finished filming Christmas, so I’ve only just finished working with him, so at the moment it doesn’t feel that unusual because obviously we weren’t together all the time anyway.
‘I still speak to him most days! So it doesn’t feel too bad at the moment but it will obviously be different.
‘I’m quite excited about what it might be like for Linda now. Obviously she’s going to be sad for a little while because she’s there without him but it’s like having a blank canvas, this new chapter for her, and I honestly don’t know what they’ve got in store for her.’
Earlier this year, Danny admitted the door was being left open for him to return to the show.
Speaking on his Sorted With The Dyers podcast in January, he said: ‘Let me tell you something – Mick’s exit is going to be a very, very powerful thing. I would love the door to be left open, and as far as I know it is.
‘So who knows. When I go out there and I fail miserably I can come back with my tail between my legs and go, “Will you take me back?”
‘But I just want to send out some love to everyone at EastEnders. I love you all very much.
‘It’ll be a sad year for me, but I’m also very excited about it. So we’re going to attack this year, and we’re going to make this year a f****** special one.’
The scenes will air Monday 28th November at 7:30pm on BBC One.
