Davide Sanclimenti has revealed he’s been consoling his former Love Island co-star Luca Bish following his split with girlfriend Gemma Owen.
The 27-year-old admitted the fishmonger, 23, was ‘not really okay’ after Gemma, 19, called time on their romance last Thursday after just three months of dating.
In an exclusive interview with MailOnline on Thursday at 100 Queen’s Gate Hotel with La Gioiosa, he said: ‘I had a conversation with Luca after the breakup with Gemma just to make sure he was okay.
‘He was not really okay but he is now and he is getting better and I feel like I told him, “You had an amazing experience together and had a lovely time but if it’s not something that’s going to work then Gemma will find someone who is meant for her and you will find someone meant for you so there is no reason to be sad.”
‘I always say, “If it’s meant to be for me then it will be for me.” I realise this with Ekin-Su and things outside the villa with her are getting better and better each day.’
Meanwhile, the Italian Stallion’s relationship with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been going from strength-to-strength, with their Homecomings reality show airing on Monday.
The boohooMAN ambassador gushed: ‘We are so exciting, the filming went well. The ITV team were amazing, we already knew some of them so we felt like we weren’t recording or filming.
‘We felt very natural and there were an awful lot of funny moments. The best moment and probably the most emotional moments for me is when, in Italy, Ekin-Su met my family and when I go to Turkey to meet her family. These are probably the two most emotional moments.
‘I was not so nervous meeting Ekin-Su’s family because I met her mum in the villa and I met her dad when I came out of the villa so I feel like I have met the two most important people inside the family before the show ended.
‘But, at the same time, it was lovely to meet all the cousins and whole close family members.’
On their future plans, he added: ‘I’m not revealing everything but if our show together is good we will probably like to do more travelling shows together which I feel could be something fun and entertaining for people.
‘We just want to travel we’d both love to go to Egypt, Japan, Brazil and just travel the world and see how it goes.’
Davide and Ekin-Su appeared on Friday’s Good Morning Britain to promote the programme, revealing filming has brought them ‘closer together’.
The Turkish actress began: ‘I mean it’s not just the lovely stuff, but we had a lot of funny moment and little arguments, so everything had been really good.
‘It’s brought us a lot closer, his family is like my family. It was one of the best trips I’ve had.
Davide admitted: ‘We had an argument the first night and it was such a normal argument, we’ve not had a proper argument since leaving the villa, it’s just been bickering. I think a lot of couples can relate to, it’s solvable.’
And with Ekin-Su set to compete on Dancing On Ice in January, she revealed: ‘I’ve got bruises and I’ve lost a toenail but it’s great.
‘That’s explaining how my training is going. I’m very competitive, I want to do well and have fun with it.’
David chimed in: ‘I see how much effort she’s putting in, I’m sure she’ll be good.
When asked how they juggle time together and work, Ekin-Su said: ‘We hardly find time to chill but when we do we make sure we do the little things, make dinner, tea and coffee. Small things make me so happy because I’m so tired.’
On whether they are more in love since leaving the villa, Ekin-Su said: ‘100%, it’s different. Because you don’t know the person in the villa because it’s a show, it’s a bubble, you don’t get that stuff in real life.’
When asked about marriage, Davide said: ‘It’s very early, everything is going well we love each other but it’s lovely and when it’s the right moment we’ll know.’
