‘Bye bye!’ Kaye Adams shares Strictly elimination fears as she makes show prediction

On Friday night, Strictly Come Dancing fans will finally find out who the celebrities will be partnered up with as they prepare to take to the dancefloor for the first time. Among the line-up is Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams, who admitted she is really nervous about her stint on the BBC series.

During an interview with Lorraine, Kaye told the ITV host she will be happy if she stays in the competition for a few weeks.

Discussing rehearsals and the reason she wanted to take part in Strictly, Kaye began: “I am a better dancer now than I was eight days ago, but that doesn’t mean I am any good.

“I surprised myself by agreeing to do it, but it’s the last year of my 50s, and I started this podcast a show called How to be 60, and to be honest, I have always skated around my age.

“I must have negative connotations, and my mum did, my mum lied about her age.

“If I had told my mum’s real age in public, she would have not been happy.

“So that was in me and I thought that, ‘This is stupid, why am I sort of self-limiting myself and being embarrassed about being lucky enough to get to this age?’ I should be grateful.

“You get stuck in a rut, and I am this sort of person who goes, ‘I’m not the sort of person who dances, I don’t do that’.”

Kaye has spent the past few weeks rehearsing with her partner for their first dance, which she will perform on Saturday night.

She went on to admit that since it was announced she was going on the show, random people in the street have come up to her to wish the presenter, good luck.

She told the host: “What has been so glorious for the last month or so since it was announced, it’s just really nice regular people that you meet in the street and coffee shops, going for your dog walk etc, just coming up, and going, ‘Good luck!’.

“It’s just nice, simple, human and decent interaction, as we all get locked into a social media bubble where everyone is just trying to get at people.

“But actually, it’s been such a reminder that the vast majority of people are just lovely people who say good luck.”

When asked about whether she is competitive, Kaye admitted: “I am a very competitive person, so I will try my best.

“I will try my very best, but also, I am a very realistic person.

“I’ve decided to do this because I want to do something different, and I don’t want to be the person at a wedding who says ‘No, I don’t dance’.

“I want to be able to say, ‘You know what? Yeah, I’ll have a bit of a boogie.”

Sharing her fears about being eliminated, the ITV presenter added: “So I’m in this to learn to love to dance.

“And if I achieve that in week one, week two, week three and then it’s, ‘Bye-bye’, then that is great for me.

“You know, I will try my best of course, but my best might be quite rubbish.”

How many episodes are in The Rookie season 5?

First debuting on ABC back in 2018, The Rookie has grown in popularity over the years. The show follows Nathan Fillion’s newbie police officer John Nolan as he joins the LAPD as the force’s oldest recruit after closing his construction business and getting divorced. Over the seasons, The Rookie has seen John leaning into his career and cracking cases.

Previous seasons of The Rookie have varied in length with the first two outings consisting of 20 episodes.

The third cycle was 14 instalments long with the coronavirus pandemic likely to have hampered filming on the season.

Season four had a total of 22 episodes but it looks like series five will be made up of another 20 episodes, suggesting a return to its standard format.

Episodes will be airing on a weekly basis on ABC in America with subscribers to streaming platform Hulu able to watch the show on the service as well.

There’s no UK air date for The Rookie season five as yet with the drama typically airing on Sky Witness six months after its US premiere.

Season five got the green light from ABC in March this year at the same time the network announced The Good Doctor had been renewed for a sixth season.

A spin-off series from The Rookie with Nicey Nash taking in the role of Simone Clark, the oldest rookie at the FBI Academy, is also going ahead as the franchise expands.

The new season of The Rookie will start with an explosive story featuring a female serial killer Rosalind Dyer (played by Annie Wersching).

Additionally, Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter) will go undercover together with sparks flying further between the pair.

They will be helping out the Las Vegas police in their hopes of taking down a huge criminal enterprise.

However, the burgeoning romance between the pair won’t come without its challenges as they work side-by-side.

The Rookie’s creator Alex Hawley teased back in July: “Obviously, we left quite the cliffhanger at the end of last season with the kiss, which we’ve been building up to for four seasons.

“There will definitely be repercussions and some fallout from that, but I do think it’s fair to make you wait to see exactly where that goes.”

“There’s definitely going to be some carryover from the end of last season that’s going to be very dynamic,” he added to Entertainment Weekly.

Season five will also see the return of Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, Jenna Dewan as Bailey Nune, Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey, Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers, and Tru Valentino as Aaron Thorsen.

Fans can also expect some guest stars as John now graduates to a training officer in season five.

Fillion said with John now promoted to another level in his job, he was “starting at rock bottom” again.

But this time he would also be getting a newbie who made the same mistakes John did when he first started.

Nonetheless, John’s trainee wouldn’t be a exactly the same as him, but there would be similar themes in the errors they made.

There is also expected to be some crossovers between The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds considering they were both shot on the same sound studio.

The Rookie season 5 airs on ABC and Hulu in America tonight

Jay Blades says childhood was blighted by racism and violence – but Repair Shop fixed him

During an appearance on Desert Island Discs, Jay, 52, said the show quickly won viewers’ hearts because it is all about “community, love and kindness.” From day one he says he knew bringing together specialists from all crafts and hearing about people’s attachment to family heirlooms would make the programme special.

For him, the “joy” was seeing people who for just a few split seconds remembered every relative linked to a treasured item as they are reunited with it.

Talking about the programme’s appeal, he told host Lauren Laverne: “It talks about stuff that we all want, which is a community, people coming together, love and then also just kindness.

“It’s like people just feel comfortable and open up.”

He recalled one of the first reveals being a “bubbly” lady who brought in a piano stool which she sat on as a child as her grandmother taught her to play.

Jay said: “When she came back to pick it up, what happened was she put her hand on top of the stool and that was it, she just broke down and she just cried.”

“It was the weirdest experience because we were just having a laugh and then it was wow!”

“I said to her what are you thinking? and she said I can feel my grandmother here.”

“That’s when I knew this was going to be special.”

Jay told how his father, who he refers to as the “man that contributed towards my birth”, was absent when he was teenager experiencing racism and violence at school, from the police and from skinheads.

He said: “The Repair Shop has fixed me because what it has done is actually brought me into another family, that is people in front and behind the camera who have looked after me and understand my kind of, what I call them, differences and just accept them.”

“The family, Kirsten, Steve, Will.. you have to be there to understand. What you see on television is brilliant, don’t get me wrong. It’s even better in real life.”

Explaining what his restoration work means to him now, he said: “The joy that I have doing it myself is kind of a kid-like state.”

“So when I get creative I forget all of the bills, ambitions, whatever. “

“When you are doing it on Repair Shop, I think the joy is of seeing someone pick up an item, and you can actually see them remembering every family member that is related to that item just for that split second, the silence, where they are just holding an item for a minute and you can see them remembering.”

He told Laverne, 44, he was determined to make the show more diverse and a focus in the future will be on apprentices so the team can pass down over 600 years of collective skills to the next generation of craftspeople.

Among the discs, he would take to a desert island were Help Me Make It Through The Night by John Holt, Revolution by Dennis Brown and Take Me To The Alley by George Porter.

His book choice was the autobiography of Malcolm X and his luxury item a reclining massaging chair.

Beauty and the Geek hosts tease ‘surprising’ outcomes: ‘Did not see coming’

BBC Radio 1 presenters Matt Edmondson and Mollie King are rebooting the dating series which sees them pair up female “beauties” with self-proclaimed male “geeks”. The eight-episode series will follow the newly-formed couples as they head “on a journey of self-discovery, and hopefully love”. Having the power to pair the couples up and or split them apart, Matt and Mollie recently revealed the surprises they encountered when filming.

Touching on how they felt when they were asked to be part of the new series, Mollie exclaimed: “I watched this show with my sisters when I was growing up.

“When we were asked to come in for conversations about it, I was like ‘Oh my god this is iconic, yes we want to bring back the series’ so yeah it is just honestly a dream gig!”

Matt added: “I watched it back in the day and one thing I will say is its a really different show, the tone of it is about the warmest thing I have ever seen.

“Part of the reason we wanted to do it is we were waiting for the right thing to do, we are genuinely best mates, this felt totally so where we wanted things to do,” he told Express.co.uk.

When asked whether they thought they were good matchmakers, Mollie confidently revealed: “We think we are fantastic matchmakers.

“I definitely came into this like ‘Matt stick with me kid I am so cupid’, and I still think I have the knack!”

Agreeing, Matt expressed: “You’re good, you have good intuition, I am very rarely paying attention to what is going on.”

“We did make a couple of mistakes which you will see throughout the series,” Mollie revealed but Matt soon added: “But we rectified them.”

Touching on how they witnessed the romances develop, Mollie explained: “As the show goes on, you do see sparks flying and a lot of these guys have said that they kind of fancy each other.

“You are trying to do things out of your comfort zone, in front of somebody you fancy as well, it is not a place you want to find yourself.

“But everybody just pulled through so well and we were in awe of everybody.”

Excited about the couples, Matt admitted: “We are not going to call these relationships either, by the way, there are some real surprises in there of stuff I did not see coming!

“There was a lot of people angling to be with a new person or the same person they had but we absolutely loved the power,” he teased.

Mollie joked: “I like to think of myself as a counsellor, and therapist and took my chance to be a part of the gossip.”

Beauty and the Geek originally aired on US broadcast network Fox in 2005 and has since been adapted in more than 20 markets around the world.

Clare Laycock, SVP and Head of Entertainment at Discovery UK, said: “Beauty and the Geek has enjoyed huge international success and we are delighted to bring it back to the UK and give Discovery Plus viewers access to another hit reality show.

“We are excited to work with Matt Edmondson and Mollie King, a perfect fit for the show, who will put this year’s couples through a series of tasks that challenge stereotypes, and misconceptions and ask the ultimate question: do ‘opposites’ attract?”

Each of the couples will be handed challenges specifically constructed to reveal there is more to them than meets the eye.

If they make it through to the final, the favourite couple will win a £50,000 cash prize along with the prospect of love and a relationship.

Episode six of House of the Dragon is called The Princes and the Queen and will mark a huge moment for the HBO fantasy series with a 10-year time jump and a massive cast revamp. Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke step into the roles of Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower respectively after the roles were played by Milly Alcock and Emily Carey.

Like the previous episode of House of the Dragon, episode six is going to be part of a global simulcast.

This means, the instalment will be dropping across the world at the same time and so it doesn’t matter where you are geographically, you will be able to watch it straight away.

The worldwide simulcast was introduced while the parent series Game of Thrones was on screens in the hopes of stopping illegal file sharing and downloading.

Game of Thrones was previously and consistently named as one of the most illegally viewed programmes in the world, but the simulcast seemed to have curbed pirating of the show.

House of the Dragon episode six will be released on HBO on Sunday, September 25 at 9pm Eastern Standard Time.

The show will also be coming out at this time on HBO Max in Latin America, while in Canada you can watch the instalment on the channel Crave because both these regions fall into the same time zone as North America.

In the UK, Sky Atlantic is the British broadcaster and will be airing the episode on Monday, September 26 at 2am British Summer Time (BST), which is the same time it will be broadcast in the US

Those unable to stay up until the early hours of the morning, can watch episode six at 9pm BST on the same date when Sky Atlantic will be repeating the episode.

Those without a Sky subscription can watch episode six via the streaming platform NOW but you will need to purchase an Entertainment Membership as part of your subscription in order to view content.

You can live stream The Princess and the Queen via NOW and watch the episode either at 2am or 9pm.

Alternatively, you can watch House of the Dragon on catch-up at a time to suit you following the initial 2am broadcast.

NOW allows you to watch content on the go and you can even download the episode to watch on catch-up without needing a live internet connection.

Those in Portugal can watch the instalment from 2am on September 26 on HBO Max.

House of the Dragon fans in Spain, Finland, Sweden, Norway, or Denmark will be able to watch the episode from Monday, September 26 at 3am on HBO Max.

But in Italy you can only watch the show on Sky Italia from 4am on the same day.

Moving across time zones to Israel, episode six will be on screens from 4am on the broadcaster Cellcom.

In the Middle East region, the show is going to be dropping its latest episode on September 26 at 5am on channel OSN.

Asian fans in Singapore can watch from 9am on HBO Asia, while audiences in Japan can watch the series from 10am on the same broadcaster.

Those in Australia will be able to watch House of the Dragon via Foxtel or the streaming platform BINGE on Monday, September 26 at 11am Australian Standard Time.

Rick and Morty episode 4 release time: What time is Night Family out?

Rick and Morty season six is almost midway through this latest series, with new disasters occurring in every new instalment. The Adult Swim science fiction animated sitcom has a loyal fanbase who love to delve into every episode, on the lookout for Easter eggs, plot holes and out-of-this-world theories. Season six’s fourth outing will be no different with even more mayhem ready to commence.

The show hadn’t been on screens in over a year with Rick and Morty returning in the USA on Sunday, September 4, on Adult Swim.

Since then, new episodes have been released weekly on the channel in the same timeslot of 11pm ET.

Due to the different time zones, those living more centrally in the States can expect the same episode to come out at 8pm PT.

Even though the actual time differs, episode four, Night Family, will be released at the exact same moment, wherever you reside.

Sadly, Adult Swim is only available in the USA and so UK fans have to watch Rick and Morty on a different platform.

The American network has an ongoing partnership with E4 which is where the previous seasons have aired.

This also goes for the current sixth season with the same episode being aired at the same time on E4 at the very early time of 4am BST on Monday, September 26.

But UK fans don’t have to get up that early to watch the latest instalment as there is another way.

After the latest Rick and Morty episode is shown on E4 at 4am each week, it will then come out on the channel’s streaming service All4.

The previous five series are already on the streamer and series six is going to be gradually added.

There is no need to pay for All4 as it is a free service, but you will need to register an email address for access.

Seasons one to five of Rick and Morty are also ready to watch on HBO Max and Hulu in the States.

As of yet, season six of the animated comedy is not coming out on either of the platforms.

But given how the rest of the show is already on there, it is more than likely that the sixth series will be dropped at a later date.

Episode four of Rick and Morty season six will be called Night Family, which will involve the entire Smith family.

Going by the simple description, fans can expect the usual madness from the instalment.

Rick and Morty’s Night Family synopsis reads: “The family discover Rick has been using some new technology that they want to try too.

“After obliging, classic Rick and Morty chaos ensues.”

So how will Rick’s crazy and dangerous inventions get the family into trouble this time around?

Rick and Morty season 6 is available to watch every Sunday on Adult Swim in the USA and Monday on E4 in the UK.

The Rookie season 5, episode 1 cast: Who stars in Double Down?

The Rookie has only been away from ABC for the past few months and now it’s back for more. The police drama will be picking up from where it left off, with series four ending with an unexpected kiss. Express.co.uk has everything there is to know about The Rookie season five cast.

Actor Nathan Fillion is back as John Nolan, the original rookie who switched careers from construction worker to police officer.

Series five will be a massive change for him as he will begin working as a training officer, after completing his own training for the job in season four.

The Canadian-American actor played Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds in Firefly and its subsequent film Serenity.

He was also Richard Castle in ABC’s mystery drama Castle for seven years.

Season four started with the exit of Titus Makin Jr as Jackson West, who was replaced by Aaron Thorsen (Tru Valentino).

He was a recurring character in the previous series and has since been upped to a series regular so fans can expect plenty more from Aaron.

He loaned his voice for numerous parts last year for the animated children’s show Spidey and His Amazing Friends.

An important part of Nolan’s next stage in his career as a training officer will be Celina, the new rookie.

According to TV Line: “Celina has an easy confidence and high marks at the Academy, and her unconventional approach to police work will pose an unexpected challenge for her training officer.”

Fans may recognise actress Lisseth Chavez for playing Vanessa Rojas in NBC’s Chicago PD.

She has also been in The OA, Fosters, Legends of Tomorrow and Station 19.

Returning for this fifth outing is actor Eric Winder as Sergeant Tim Bradford.

In season four, he was assigned an undercover operation with Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil).

They had to pretend to be lovers and preparation for the assignment led to a kiss so fans are eager to know if they are now an item.

Winter played FBI Special Agent Craig O’Laughlin in CBS’ The Mentalist and Dash Gardiner on Lifetime’s Witches of East End.

Angela Lopez will be back as a detective after she was promoted from training officer in season three.

Actress Alyssa Diaz has been Celia Ortega in As the World Turns, Jasmine in The Nine Lives of Chloe King and Gloria Cruz in Army Wives, just to list a few of her past projects.

    Other cast members include:

    Wesley Evers – Shawn Ashmore

    Nyla Harper – Mekia Cox

Wade Grey – Richard T Jones

    Chris Sanford – Kanoa Goo

The Rookie season 5 premieres on Sunday, September 25, on ABC in the USA. A UK release date hasn’t been announced.
