Brooke Shields went for an icy Thanksgiving swim in a fashionable one-piece bathing suit on Thursday,
The 57-year-old actress donned the fashionable red swimsuit and stepped into a chilly shallow pool in a new Instagram video.
The star made several shocked sounds as she walked further into the icy water, sitting at its deepest point for several seconds before quickly retreating from it.
She tied her dark brown hair back into a tight bun, and sported chic sunglasses for her dip.
The New York native captioned the clip, ‘The #thanksgiving tradition continues…[turkey emoji][cold blue face emoji].’
The video comes just days after she talked about her controversial Barbara Walters interview.
She was just 15 years old when she was interviewed by iconic Walters, 93, in 1981, following her breakthrough role in The Blue Lagoon.
Shields was promoting her new HBO Max movie Holiday Harmony on Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, when she got very candid about how she felt some interviews were inappropriate.
Barrymore recalled an interview she did with Walters when she was in her early 20s and Walters was pressing her about her substance abuse issues, bisexuality and more, adding, ‘she would not relent.’
Shields mentioned that she wanted ‘the negative sound bite’ while revealing her experiences with Walters – who has been out of the spotlight since 2016 when she attended the New York premiere of Woody Allen’s film Cafe Society.
Shields explained: ‘She asked me what my measurements were and asked me to stand up, and I stand up and she’s like comparing herself to this little girl, and I thought, “This isn’t right. I don’t understand what this is.”
‘But I just, I behaved and smiled and felt like so taken advantage of in so many ways.’
‘But over the years, you know when you’ve been in the public eye and have been commented on all the time, everybody has an opinion, and you all get to say it, and now that’s where social media I think can be dangerous. Then you learn to say no this is my truth,’ Shields added.
During the interview, Walters asks her what her measurements are before probing into her family life with Shields’ mother Teri, who was an alcoholic, sitting next to her the entire time.
Walters stood next to the then 15-year-old to highlight how tall and slim she was, with Shields explaining her father was tall.
When Walters asks if she feels she was missing out on her childhood, Shields replies: ‘I’m still going through my childhood, so I can’t say I didn’t.’
Then when asked how she felt sitting down and doing interviews, Shields said: ‘I’d rather do this than not do it at all. I enjoy this. It’s an experience that I would not like to miss.’
When quizzing Shields, Walters also turned to her mother Teri, to ask her how she felt about claims she’d taken her daughter’s childhood away – something they both denied at the time.
However Shields has since opened up about her sometimes strained relationship with her late mother, who passed away in 2012, who she describes as an alcoholic in her memoir.
Teri began promoting her daughter as a child model and actress when she was an infant, and allowed her to be cast as a child prostitute in the 1978 film ‘Pretty Baby’.
She also arranged for a photographer to take nude photos of Brooke when she was just 10, telling Bill Boggs that her daughter was ‘at an age where she couldn’t talk back.’
