Giovanna Fletcher's brother Mario Falcone reveals that she saved his life following a suicide attempt when he was at his lowest ebb.
Former TOWIE star Mario, 32, says his I'm A Celebrity contestant sister, 35, came to his rescue after he tried to end his life following a painful split with his ex-fiancee Lucy Mecklenburgh.
Speaking in a candid new interview, Mario said of Giovanna: 'I owe her everything' as he reflected on the dark moment in his life.
Mario has since turned his life around and has gone on to become a father, and says he has his big sister to thank.
Speaking to the Sunday People, he said: 'People might not know this but Giovanna quite literally saved my life when I was at my lowest ebb.
'I was having a really difficult time eight years ago going through a very public break-up. I was getting a lot of hate on social media and felt really backed into a corner - like this was the only way out.'
The reality star has previously spoken out about his suicide bid, which came in the aftermath of the breakdown of his relationship with then partner Lucy, 29, in 2012.
He told how after waking up the next day, he was relieved to have thrown up and at that point vowed to seek help.
Describing Giovanna's intervention, Mario said that despite her 'shock' over his actions, she was 'amazing' and 'unbelievable' and soon leapt into action to help her brother.
The author and podcaster set up four days worth of counselling for Mario at a top London doctor, followed by ten additional follow-up appointments over the coming weeks.
Detailing the effect it had on him, he said: 'That really turned things around for me. She encouraged me to talk to people and not keep things bottled up. That saved my life - without any doubt.'
Since getting his life back on track, Mario went on to find love with make-up artist Becky Miesner in 2016.
The couple are now engaged and share a two-year-old son, Parker Jax.
Mario's words comes after Giovanna revealed she once filmed a scene for TOWIE, alongside her reality star brother, but was cut out of the show.
The writer and podcaster recounted the story during Saturday night's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
'They talked me into being part of the scene. They really had to talk me into it,' she told campmate Shane Richie of her reluctant decision to take part.
'It was a massive thing for me to say I'll do it. And then I got cut. I was more upset about being cut. I am not TOWIE enough!'
While Giovanna has been in the Welsh castle, little brother Mario has been sure to continue supporting her despite being admitted to hospital.
Posting to Instagram stories on Wednesday, Mario shared a video taken from his sick bed, watching the endurance reality show.
With Giovanna on the screen taking on a task, he captioned the post: 'Watching from my hospital bed!'
He shared another snap giving a thumbs down, his hand with a drip in it.
The TV Personality, who was recovering from a hernia operation, captioned this: 'Feel like poo but get to go home soon!'

Tyson Fury posted a passionate Instagram comment defending his lavish lifestyle on Sunday.
The boxer was celebrating his 12th wedding anniversary with wife Paris, who took to her Instagram account to show off the designer presents Tyson had bought her.
After one fan branded the gift haul 'tasteless', Tyson added a comment on his wife's page insisting that while he is 'not the perfect husband,' he would give up everything for his family.
Paris proudly showed off the presents Tyson had lavished on her, with the haul including two pairs of Dior shoes.
The J'Adior slingback pumps, which retail for £890, and the Dway slides, which cost £550, were accompanied by a bottle of Moet champagne, chocolates and multiple bouquets of flowers.
'Happiness is the secret to all beauty. There is no beauty without happiness. 12 years married to my best friend, my other half, my soulmate. @gypsyking101 thanks for a great day and the beautiful presents you surprised me with xxxxxxx' Paris captioned the short video.
While most of the comments congratulated the couple on their anniversary, one follower wrote: 'Prefer a skink person , presents that mean things , aren’t always expensive !!! What about people that have nothing ? Quite tasteless.'
Tyson appeared to respond to the criticism, as he later wrote a lengthy comment on his wife's post, explaining:
'Hi guys I’m not the perfect husband or the perfect man, but I have and always will love my wife paris❤️'
'There were times when paris earned more money than me,' he continued. 'My career and life hasn’t always been sunshine and rainbows but now it is I’m happy for every day god sends me.'
'We are on this planet for a short timeframe then we leave. Enjoy the time you have together with the people that matter in your life, the most precious thing I own is...... contentment and happiness and a well mind all prais be to god, in Jesus name Amen.'
Paris made her debut as a guest panellist on Friday's Loose Women, joining Jane Moore, Linda Robson and Stacey Solomon on the show.
During the show, Paris, 30, discussed 32-year-old Tyson's well-documented struggle with his mental health.
She said: 'I think it really opened up the playing field for men to talk about their mental health. I think it’s really helped a lot of people to come forward.
'We got a massive response, we get people messaging us, sending letters to us. We even get people at our house which isn’t ideal, it’s not a situation that we want to be involved in because obviously we are not professional helpers.
'But I do always try and say seek medical help and go and see a doctor… Bottling up is not a good thing… Never feel ashamed or embarrassed by what you are thinking or feeling.'
Paris admitted her family is now having to move home for security reasons because so many people are calling round for help.
She said: 'It’s not good, we actually have to move because of it. We are in the process of moving house because we have too many strangers knocking on the door.
'We have five children in here… We have people coming and the kids are opening the door and we don’t know who they are opening the door to. It’s not the ideal situation.
'We even had someone at 11 o’clock crying, saying they were going to commit suicide. We did stop and talk to them but it’s not something you can personally deal with. We are not trained in that way.'
The pretty blonde admitted that Tyson has struggled since his big fight in December was cancelled.
She said: 'He has [taken] it pretty bad. He is ok, he is moving on but it has affected him. Tyson is always a firm believer in setting goals to keep his mental health well and that was his goal.
'It has put him on a bummer, he isn’t really saying it but I know… It’s like living with Jekyll and Hyde but he will come through it.'
He's spent lockdown with his girlfriend Hanni Treweek at their Manchester home.
And Jack P Shepherd, 32, found himself with some car trouble after his beloved £41K Mustang was clamped outside their abode.
The Coronation Street star's muscle car could be seen in a parking spot with a bright yellow clamp on one of the front wheels in pictures taken on Sunday.
While The Sun also reported that Jack, who has had the car since 2017, had a red sticker left on his window to further alert him to the clamp.
Manchester City Council's website explains that it costs £40 to have a wheel clamp removed as well as £25 or £35 more to pay the penalty charge notice.
A number of things can lead to a driver having their motor clamped, including not paying parking tickets, ignoring bus lane rules and not being taxed.
If the council ends up moving the car, a removal fee of £105 is charged to the driver on top of the penalty charge notice to release the vehicle.
MailOnline has contacted Jack's representatives for a comment.
The conversation was sparked after the soap star's former fiancee Lauren Shippey claimed he has not seen their two children in almost four months; causing a follower of his current love to accuse Jack of not seeing his third child, Greyson, either.
Hanni, 31, was sure to defiantly reply to the naysayer, replying: 'I get trolled by people like you on a daily basis. I wasn't in Jack's life when that happened.
'What I can comment on is that he was 21, a young man himself in the public eye with a lot to learn.
'Everyone has a past, its important not to judge a book by its cover. You might assume you know the facts but you don't.
'The world is already at an uncertain time and it's not going to get any better anytime soon with trolls such as yourself.
'If you thought I wasn't going to respond, you were wrong. Have a lovely evening xxx [sic]'
Ex Lauren, 32, slammed Jack, 32, for failing to keep his promises to his children and criticised his decision to discuss his 'blended family' in a recent magazine interview.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'It made me laugh. We're about as blended as a breeze block in a cement mixer.'
Jack and Lauren were in a relationship from 2002 to 2017 and are parents to Nyla, 11, and Reuben, six, while Greyson was born in 2010 from a one-night stand.
Lauren said she was unhappy after reading an interview her ex gave to OK! magazine where he spoke about homeschooling their children with his new girlfriend Hanni Treweek, 31, during the coronavirus lockdown.
She said: 'I'm speaking out now because Jack has used his celebrity status to give an interview which portrays a false image of how he behaves.
'Jack didn't see his children for almost four months! He hurt me emotionally quite a few times. I always had his back and forgave him. I never, ever planned to speak about our relationship but enough is enough.'
Lauren also told the publication that Jack hurt her emotionally and she now feels the public needs to know what he is 'really like'.
She also said that her children need their father and she hopes he will come to see his current behaviour as unacceptable.
Jack and Lauren met when they were teenagers and were engaged until she broke off their relationship in May 2017.
Lauren said she forgave Jack for his one-night stand in 2010, saying he told her the truth on the Friday before it was due to be published in a Sunday newspaper.
She finally called quits on their relationship in 2017 when he failed to come home one night after reportedly going to a strip club in Leeds.
